Slogger there has to be a middle ground, its not all bad but it's not all good either. The 20 losses In a row is poor no matter how you coat it and people have a right to express their thoughts.

Yes its tough at the moment. Work commitments prevented me watching yesterday and i have only managed to watch the 1st quarter so far .. (Shaw's goal was nice) .. I'll force myself the watch the rest of the game during the week but not looking forward to the 3rd & 4th quarters.

Blueys comments in the courier mail, like " they understand that when the effort and discipline isn't there to stick to the structures you are going to get beaten. " really grate on me, they have Been talking about structures for months now if they don't do it then drop them, alternatively if they can't execute the plan where is plan B

I'm kind of numb to it all now
The longer we go without a win the more my theory re losing culture becomes firmer
With a winning mindset you could argue we should have beaten Freo Essendon GWS and North this year
We have no idea how to win and the current thrashings are just ingraining that
Having said that, our very best injury free team is at this stage about lower middle AFL level, the current best team we can put on the ground isn't much above VFL..in fact I fear the result if we were to play a Gary Ayres coached Port Melbourne

Some little glimmer to hold on to in the darkest of 2nd seasons...this year the big clubs are not resting players against us.
It's a function of our big losses and the logjam at the top..they can't afford not to take the same percentage on offer as their competitors, because at the end of the season it might be the difference between a home final or not..so while it's not easy for the boys, they are actually playing the best every week..unlike last year.

ha!
Stan Alves and Bomber Thompson just made this point on AFL360
Who's been reading Big Footy boys?

I reckon they are still resting players against us. Clubs often bring back players the week after they play the Suns (eg: Swan, Jolly & Tarrant for the Pies). They also blood rookies against us (eg: Newman for the Eagles) & even sub their best players (Gaff also for the Eagles & Milne when he looked like he would kick a bag for the Saints).

Eagles didn't rest any against us. They only made one change compared to the team that played the Pies, and that's because Newman destroyed it at WAFL level. He would have debut'd on any rate.

They likely won't rush them back for us, but we're certainly not getting rested as much any more.
