Out-
Rance-injured obviously
JON-do not return
Edwards-is it just me or is he ridiculously slow
White-Looks super quick when he has it, but doesnt give a shit when he doesn't
Schultz-That was a positive out of today, he's finally gonna be off our list

IN-
Thursfield
Connors
Brown
Cotchin
Morton

I apologise for the negativity of the outs, its just so depressing at the moment.

I noticed it as well today.
For years we have been crying out for players to provide us with a target along the half forward flank and wing. JON is doing that very well imo.
I wonder if JON played this role in a side like Hawthorn he wouldn't do little 20m chips into the forward 50 but would pump it long with confidence knowing he has 2 great power forwards ready to mark it, he would be known as a good player.

Cocaine or weed?

edwards, rance and JON out, dont care who comes in.
schulz is bought in to play foward and half the game i see him down back or on the pine.

Exactly ****ING right! Would someone play this guy in his proper position?

IN: Cotchin, Morton, Raines, Hughes (Hoping that he can capture some form he showed at AAMI last year), Thursfield

OUT: Riewoldt, White, JON, Rance, Edwards

OUT:
  • Edwards: I like him. But he a) doesn't get enough it, b) gets thrown around way too much
  • JON: Needs to do more. His skills were pathtic
  • White: Was attrocious today. Has been pretty good all year but he is probably the biggest confidance player at Richmond and hes down on confidance now
  • Schultz: Did nothing to suggest he is an AFL player. Hasn't done in years in fact
  • Rance (inj)
IN:
  • Brown: Given. Play him in the centre though, not in the foward line. We need as much skill in the midfield as possible
  • Cotchin/Conners: If Cotch is fit, play him. If not, play Conners. We need someoen will skill and a little bitch of X-Factor.
  • Thurstfield: To replace Rance. However, if Silvester was on the senior list, he would be getting a game in front of Thursty.
  • Hughes/Patto: Has done nothing to warrant his selection. I just really think/hope the Riewoldt-Hughes-Morton combo that worked so well against the Power last year could occur again. Schultz had his chance and failed, its Hughes turn. If not, Patto.
  • Morton: We simply don't have enough avenues to goal. Nahas is improving but only chips in with his one goal a game, Riewoldt looks shot, and Simmo isn't a long term option
One other change might be Raines for Collins. Collins' disposal is just a bad as Rainesy's but Rainesy adds more attack and flair from defence, something we are missing. Moore, Bowden and Newman are too one paced coming out of the back line. With Rance gone, we need a run and carry player

OUT: Schulz - Pathetic excuse for a footballer, was given a chance today after a poor effort at Coburg, yet doesn't play as if his career was on the line, **** OFF!!! I am just so dissapointed in this bloke, THIS was his chance, to show us how he plays without Richo dominating a forward 50 and what does he bring? Some pathetic half efforts and numerous missed chances, 4 marks from a KP? Not good enough, sure he was played in the backline for a bit, but when he was both in the backline and forward line it looked like he would have rathered be somewhere else.

Riewoldt - Needs some confidence, isn't taking marks, isn't getting shots at goal and is hanging onto the ball for far too long when he has it, let him dominate a few games at Coburg and loosen the expectations from his young shoulders.

Edwards - Too light, put some ****en muscle on, got found out as well with his 'evades', being caught by a ruckman is not good.

White - Two weak efforts in succession today signified that he needs to go, has only been alright so far this year(Drifts in and out of games too much), needs to take a step up and start to dominate, has the pace, has the desire(Usually), but lacks the polish far too much, tends to be a bit of a barometer for the team, but is way down on confidence it would seem.

Rance - Injured

IN: Hughes - May be coming from the VFL Reserves, but we need a tall, has shown form in the past, give him a chance to prove himself.

Patto - Stick Simmonds or Patto up forward and have the other as our 2nd ruck.

Cotchin - We need class so ****en badly, this guy will bring it.

Thomson - Why trade for him if he is just left to wallow at VFL? Bring him in! Will hopefully free up Foley more as a running player as he looked best when doing that, has been having to do too much of the hard work this year, let Thomson take some of the workload off him.

Thursfield - Get's a lucky break, but this bloke is good, will help out our backline that is leaking like a sieve, put him on Tredrea and don't take him off him!

Other thoughts: Give JON one more week, is doing what is most likely being asked of him, presenting an option better than most, needs to stop kicking the ball sky high though, spear the passes JON. Collins another week too, no need to drop him after one average game, he was VERY good against Sydney, needs all the games he can get. Chris Newman for mine is on his last chance, has had some absolutley pitiful peices of play where he has gone in half-hearted, very dissapointing, can't be dropped, but needs to get a ****en barrage of abuse!

Wheres the love for raines? everyone was loving him before he got injured against carlton and now suddenly 6 weeks later everyone hates him and his disposal is terrible, at least he provides a bit of flair off the backline unlike edwards who is the softest player ive seen in years

good call.......I guess with injuries people tend to forget him.....some turnover mistakes....but hell he is better then jordy..edwards and the dog commonly referred to as JON...

Due to the game's zoning and possession play, the half back flanker needs great decision making and superior skills by foot and hand.

Raines has been in the system a while now and just hasn't developed the polish that this role demands. He seems to instigate turnovers indirectly by placing teammates under undue pressure due to execution errors.

Mcmahon is of a similar ilk. It's hardly surprising that the Richmond faithful are NOT demanding their inclusion.

Was I the only one who noticed JON's consistent strong marking across half forward and intent to tackle all day?

Out - Riewoldt (has been so devastatingly disappointing all year), Edwards, Rance

In - Thursfield, Hughes, Cotchin

I want Vickery in too, Schulz went missing today but it frustrates me so much how Wallace stuffs around with him. Why can't we just leave him at FF for a whole game, he was good there first quarter. Instead we were going forward kicking to Nahas and Tambling all day. So I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. Really starting to think Out - Wallace too, it's just a waste of time now.

I'm with you although I think Schulz might have to go, too. Maybe another week at FF like you said but I don't think he's got a future.

I like this, but you can leave Reiwoldt in and drop Schulz. Reiwoldt and Hughes work well together

:)Not sure what you base this on, givent hey are likely to have played together on all of about six occasions in the last two years.
Certainly haven't played together this year, except for the Dockers' NAB Cup game when Cleve was an embarrassment.
Been largely plying his trade at Coburg over the last two years, more recently in the ressies, while Jack has been a permanent fixture at senior level forthe last three years!!

I wouldn't drop JON, he plays the lead up role well IMO.

IN: Thursfield - Cotchin
OUT: Rance - Edwards

We should be playing kids so players like Collins, JON etc deserve to stay.

C'mon mate, don't bring reality and fact into it.

Let those who think he's the next Royce Hart or Michael Roach have their dreams!!!!

Think about it .... it's akin to that handy all-rounder for South Melbourne-Casey or Footscray-Edgewater's Second XI being asked to step up
to open the innings against a NSW team including Brett Lee, Stuart Clarke and Doug Bollinger.

Yeah...he can do it!!!

Puzzling...what did the state selectors see that those at his own club who won't play him the first XI didn't?????

Look, i dont mean to sound like a prick or anything but you guys are gone, now is the time to evalutate your list, give everyone about 5-6 games to see if they are worth persisting with. I think you should give guys like JON another couple of games and if they don't come up, get rid of them and clean out your list.

Raines was terrible in the VFL last week.

Don't think you should be telling other teams if they are shit or not considering you guys just got beat by the Kangawhos.

OUT-JON-send him back to country football that about the only place he will dominate
EDWARDS- has alot of talent but too small and not hard enough
J SCHULZ -for someone who is playing for his career doesnt chase
WHITE-all the pace in the world but thats about it
BOWDEN- dont care about his stats he turns it over way too much
RANCE-injured

INN -COTCHIN
VICKERY
RAINES
MORTON
CONNORS

in: thursfield post hughes raines cotchin pattison

out: simmonds rance(inj) schulz edwards oakley-nicholls white

b: polo thursfield Moore

hb: Raines McGuane Newman

w: cogs tuck foley

hf: Cotchin Post Cousins

f: riewoldt hughes Nahas

r: Graham Deledio Jackson

i/c: bowden pattison tambling collins

We need to start playing our team for the future thats why Post, Hughes and riewold r the key forwards and Moore, McGuane and Thursfield key backs. When rance returns from injury he will take bowdens place in the team and force raines or polo to start on the bench depending on there form.
