Squad mentality. I very much doubt we’re considering him as dropped, but it is a peculiarity that he’s an emergency. My guess is that he’s not in line to play even if an injury pops up and he’s dealing with something.

We won't know for sure until he does or doesn't line up for the VFL on Friday.

I’m personally guessing/assuming WHE will be the sub purely due to versatility?

Perryman probably plays half back while Jordy plays mostly forward with small stints in the middle

Then WHE can cover basically any part of the ground should it be required

I personally think on JDG he won't be the sub - has only played 1 full game so far against the dogs, was then subbed out against Carlton and then obviously missed the swans game, so imo they will want to get some solid minutes in to him.

I'm more of the thinking it will be, he will start in the middle and be "phased" forward perhaps in the second half - and then potentially subbed off depending on the state of the game or if they feel he really needs it.

Starcevich is a big out most weeks, but feels really big against us. Wilmot will have to go to Hill and he is always set for McReery which probably means Answerth gets that one. I think Lester has a good record on Elliott, but I imagine he now gets set for JDG. That leaves Zorko on Elliott. There’ll be a mismatch there so long as JDG isn’t sub…

Agree starcevich is a big loss for us. It’s not a pace thing - Fletcher has replaced him and is not slow - starce is just so calm and clean - basically our Maynard.

I can’t see Zorko getting Elliott. Always goes to less of a threat.

Not entirely sure of why everybody’s on the Mason Cox bandwagon this week.

Maybe it will happen but it’s not Flys normal practice to pull sneaky last minute changes. With Membrey out the odds have improved slightly on it happening but I still massively doubt it.

And even if they did I’d assume Allan not WHE to be the one omitted.

Need the extra tall coverage. WHE took May to the cleaners last year by getting to tricky spots where May was in-between zoning and covering and got a bit lost. He might play in Membrey's role as part of the Andrews plan.

Love seeing JDG back in, reckon he will have a big night tonight - mostly up forward.

Happy 250th Elliott - one of my absolute favorites. So many memories. I recall being in Japan and watching us play North, from memory we were down by about 7 goals and Jamie kicked 5 in the second half as we stormed home. Magnificent.

Sub to come from one of Allan/Sullivan/WHE is probably the correct call. I know he was sub last week but have a feeling it might be Allan.

I’d overlooked the Fletcher move behind the ball and it seems to be going well. I’d feel comfortable with any of our forwards against both him and Zorko (less so Lester and Wilmot) so it’ll be interesting to see who of our forwards mix they go to and whether we can force a role with Andrews or he can run his own race.

I think it’s the line you’re somewhat gettable, but still we’d have to take our chances because you just find avenues to goal like no one else.

McCarthy and Watson are the only sub 180cm players I’ve seen able to do what Elliott can. The power they possess as primarily ground level smalls is incredible.

That's probably why Skunk out and Jordy in.

I do worry when McStay goes into the ruck because it will leave us very short up front.

Maybe Frampton will follow Day into the ruck and McStay will mc Stay in the forward line. Frampton doesn't have a natural matchup when Day runs in the ruck.
