Dont get me wrong, we came out of the blocks our pressure and was fantastic in the first half, then in the 2nd started to run tired. While Carlton turned up the heat.
Majority of our goals were oportunistic goals. Weller had a good goal, Caddy's were lucky ones and happened to be at the right spot at the right time, 3 times! Hickey from outside 50 was a bit of a 1 step hit and hope. Great they went through, but dissecting it, it's not sustainable. Sorry to be a negative nancy.
If there is one word that always comes to mind with Carlton for me it is "arrogance", played well past the point of hubris, without regard for present circumstances. In a way, this outcome doesn't surprise me - it is so meet that Carlton should have come to this ruin that it almost feels like the script of a Greek tragedy.
Bewildering stuff.
I only caught the last quarter myself but I have recorded the full game, looking forwards to getting a chance to watch it!

One thing sunny, was definitely one of our best 4qtr efforts which is probably the biggest point that I left off my review!!
The fact that we started rotting in the 3rd and then the boys dug deep against a much more experienced group and turned it around in the last quarte and held off Carlton.
Looks like we drove the final knife through Ratten's time at Carlton.

Ratts handled the presser extremely well. He seems like a genuinely nice guy, and is one of the few Coaches I know who actually acknowledged that we're a better side at Metricon in the pre-game presser.
With that said, the way Carlton have handled this has been terrible IMO. Kudos to Ratts for being good about it. Hope he can pick up an assistant gig, or maybe senior gig, elsewhere.

They definitely are a dangerous team - they just strike me as a bit of a glass hammer. More than other teams, everything needs to go right. Seemed to have more trouble than most getting people to step into roles.

Carlton looked like they thought they only had to stop Ablett & Bennell, in order to beat the Suns. It was as though their forward scout had only watched the Suns play Melbourne & maybe Collingwood at the G.
And in being so obvious and over the top about it, ended up doing nothing but giving away free kicks!
Ratten has more knives in his back than a Wiltshire van. Carlton have treated him like shit.
I'm sure nobody is going to mind a little bump in this thread, but holy **** I'm just finding out about this now. Awesome, awesome stuff. Roll on next season.
