Can deffinetly see what worked and didnt..
Smith.. Ruckwork great. Everything else poor.
Gorringe poor.
Day.. 2 good pieces of play otherwise.. Was never seen..
Tape is a good lockdown defender.. When he has the ball in hand.. His poor.
Rory needs to learn to relax practise his yoga before kicking across the face of our goals.
Compared to last few weeks this was 90% better.
Had prob 1 of our youngest ever teams out there too.
Im proud to be a suns supporter again now.

Tape!? I though he was horrible
Tape was horrible. Kicking was poor, spatial awareness was nonexistent, and lacked AFL ability. Usually he's tough as nails and locks down his man, but today was not even close to a pass mark.

On the bright side we've halved our previous average losing margin at SS from 101points.

Much better result than I expected pre-game. Just gotta work on hitting targets like the 7 meter gap between goal posts, and stop the quarter long lapses in concentration.

Liked Smith in the ruck (not so much around the ground), Rischa, McKenzie, Dion, Lynchie, Saadie and Martin.

How much did we pay for Malceski to consistently turn the ball over again?
Also thought Touk and Snoop were contributors. That goal from Snoop WOW!!!

He's slow, terrible disposal, not key position size and doesn't have the tank for midfield.. not sure he has a future in the afl to be honest. Shows courage and has good leadership but that's about all I get from him.

Like seeing the cannon in the midfield, i was surprised with his numbers being a little low, thought he had a good game

Smith was much better this week especially his tap work
Rory also had a strong game minus the brain farts

Touk 18 touches 5 tackles.. Well played young fella..
Interssting stat.
Matt shaw had the equal most marks..
Yet he played less then a half a game..
Thought he played really well.. Minus 1 or 2 small brain fades.. He deffinetly helped rather then hindered
Set up alot of attack on the fat side

He really is struggling to adjust playing for a side with constant backline pressure and lower quality players around him. Unlike Ablett that actually took his game to the next level. Hopefully he comes good very soon, we need him to stand up.

Went to the game today and really happy with most players effort. Didn't expect to win the game but looking back we really should have won. Saad, Martin and Miller are really exciting. Get Dixon, Stanley and Nicholls in and we will beat GWS.

Overall, pretty mixed feelings about the result. Still alot to work on, and would say finals are pretty much out of reach unless everything clicks immediately.

Positives
- 1st Half effort. Looked like the suns of old with our attack and pressure.
- Rory. Besides his kicking he looked like he was getting back into form. His fist is incredible.
- Lynch - 3.3 goals. Could of had 4 or 5. Was crashing packs and using his body well. He might want to back down a little though, I can see him getting suspended again soon for something reckless.
- Martin. Was BOG for me. Don't call it a coming out game, but he was impressive.
- Saad. What a pick-up. What more can I say. Can see him playing further up the ground on a wing.
- Rischa. Continued his great start to the season.
- Garletts goal - To do that in your 3rd game is pretty special.
- Thought Touk did some nice things as well.

Negatives
- Our kicking is woeful. 13.18 is pretty pathetic. Reverse that and we win. Also 64% disposal efficiency for the game is just not good enough. Especially if our gameplan is going to work.
- 2nd Half effort. Dropped the intensity and the pressure. Were constantly second to the ball and outnumbered at stoppages.
- Defensive running. the amount of times the cats had the overlap and loose numbers going forward was ridiculous. Needs to be fixed ASAP.
- 15 more inside 50s. Our forward line was to crowded and we were just blazing away. (And Hall wasn't even the worst offender.)
- Smiths work rate around the ground was pretty poor.
- Day. Eh.
- Gorringe. Meh.

Anyway. As long as we are improving each week and working on our flaws I can't really complain. Onto the GIANTS next week.

Gutted/frustrated...we should have won that, but for the 2nd week in a row our skills and disposal killed us. Dominated in the clearances and stoppages for a good portion of the game, and I think we should have been up by 6 goals at half time and almost put it to bed. Not to mention Geelong running out of players, and we should have run over them in the last qtr. For some reason we thought our "precise" disposal and nailing targets in the 4th qtr was the right option. We should have run in waves, handball and destroyed them!
So frustrated. I wonder if Eade and senior officials will have the balls to trade some currency this year? 5 years, and we're still one of the best at winning the ball but we cant freakin use it!!!! Does the heat need to be turned up on players like a Bennell and Martin to get further up the field and rotate a little more in the midfield to get better use of the ball and our clearances?

McKenzie, wow one of the best games I've seen him play for some time. Great courage, and played his role for the team defensively and offensively. Worked hard both ways I thought.
Rischa (BOG for Suns) - lead from the front, and real captains game. I said to my brother at half time who only got home from work, he is like Ablett with Hair today! Happy I traded him in this week in fantasy too ;)
Swallow battled well at contests.
Prestia was tagged, and got a little of it, but not super damaging. Showed he worked as hard as he could to try shake the tag.
The young 3 (Saad, Garlett, Miller) played well again. Probably our 3 best debutants and all playing so consistently, real credit to their hard work and character.
Lynchie was great, leading the way and showing why he is one of the best young key forwards under 23 in the comp.

Positives
EFFORT
Rory and May were good down back

Negatives
We butcher the ball, how is this possible after 5 preseasons, the reserves are exactly the same, handballs that miss targets, kicks directly to the opposition. We make the game hard for ourselves. And bloody Malcheski should change his name to clanger
The young kids, Miller, Saad, Garlett are using the ball better than many of the 4 year players, this should not be the case

Over all I didn't expect us to win and I thought the guys gave it a crack, if we ever learn to hit targets we may be a formidable team, until then we are not a top 10 team let alone a finals team

I like Matty Shaw ALWAYS
Has his brainfades but that just means he's the same as every one of our players at times

If we lose to the Giants next week ( which is a very real possibility ) put a fork in us

Dixon will probably come in for Gorringe and I would play 2MP for Day, on today's efforts I don't see Spook coming back in to the ones. Pity Josh Glenn is still on the rookie list as he was a standout today

Always areas for improvement, but essentially brilliant except for 5 minutes in the last quarter where we lost it. For some unknown bloody reason, just when we had the ascendency earlier in the last, we decided to start chipping it around. ALL DAY we were taking the game on and being brave - then, at the most crucial time when it really mattered - we decided to go into our shells and start chipping.

We have a real, identifiable (almost measurable, unfathomably), mental demon that doesn't allow us to take the game by the balls.

My big fear is that we aren't, with this group, going to be able to break through this barrier.

We'll gue Rocket time because he's not a wuss. Unlike our boys who - as much as it genuinely pains me to say this - are afraid to win.
