Kinda interesting when you think about how many WA players we now have in the B22.

Right now, we look like this.
IN: Ah Chee, Ainsworth, McInnes
OUT: Naitanui, Petrucelle, Shuey

B: Shannon Hurn (SA) - Tom Barrass (WA) - Brad Sheppard (WA)
HB: Tom Cole (VIC) - Jeremy McGovern (WA) - Liam Duggan (VIC)
C: Jamie Cripps (WA) - Elliot Yeo (WA) - Chris Masten (WA)
HF: Brendon Ah Chee (WA) - Jack Darling (WA) - Willie Rioli (NT)
F: Mark LeCras (WA) - Josh Kennedy (WA) - Fraser McInnes (WA)
R: Scott Lycett (SA) - Jack Redden (SA) - Andrew Gaff (VIC)
Int: Brayden Ainsworth (WA) - Jackson Nelson (VIC) - Mark Hutchings (WA) - Jake Waterman (WA)

14 players from WA, 4 from Victoria, 3 from SA and 1 from NT. So roughly 63% are from WA and 36% interstate.

Pretty sure that's out of the norm for interstate sides. For comparison, here is Adelaide's current B22 from round 7:
B: Luke Brown (SA) - Tom Doedee (VIC) - Andy Otten (VIC)
HB: Rory Laird (SA) - Daniel Talia (VIC) - Wayne Milera (SA)
C: Paul Seedsman (VIC) - Matt Crouch (VIC) - Rory Atkins (VIC)
HF: Jordan Gallucci (VIC) - Mitch McGovern (WA) - Tom Lynch (VIC)
F: Eddie Betts (SA) - Josh Jenkins (VIC) - Richard Douglas (VIC)
R: Sam Jacobs (SA) - Bryce Gibbs (SA) - Cam Ellis-Yolmen (SA)
Int: Hugh Greenwood (TAS) - Jake Kelly (VIC) - David Mackay (VIC) - Darcy Fogarty (SA)

12 players from Victoria, 8 from SA, 1 from Tasmania and 1 from WA. 36% are from SA and 63% interstate. Basically reversed with us.

Great to see.
Hopefully brander gets a go sometime this year to get that up to 7.

That's actually amazing. The fact that we have debuted that many and sit 2nd on the ladder is a great achievement.

Interesting trend this year with the club really telegraphing the team pre-selection announcements. I guess they are getting on a plane anyway so people can work it out, but I've never really noticed us do this before.

Whats the most we have debut in a season other then the first few years the club was around?

2017: 2 (Parto, Mutsy)
2016: 2 (Cole, Karps)
2015: 5 (Lamb, Nelson, Duggan, FMac, Barrass)

2012: 3 (Brennan, Neates, Newman)
2011: 4 (Darling, Gaff, Weedon, Lycett)
2010: 8 (Shuey, Shep, Stevens, Strijk, Hams, Stevenson, Smith, JJones)
2009: 5 (Cockie, NicNat, Swift, McGinners, Wilson)
2008: 8 (Ebert, Scooter, Masten, Davis, Spang, Houlihan, Wilkes, Notte)
2007: 5 (Brown, EMac, BMac, JMac, Schoey)
2006: 2 (Hurn, Priddis)

Sorry but our yard stick is beating really good vic teams on the MCG, always has been.
Yes I know that, but my yardstick is bypassing the status quo/mindsets and arriving at seasons end with enough points for a double-dip, may include beating 'really good' teams away or at Mcg, may not.
We can still get there without doing that and I believe we will be good enough when it matters (especially if we have our best 22 roundabout) as we already have much experience (and depth) playing at Optus with large crowds and similar/wider dimensions.

If we drop this game to Giants, no biggie, we were stretched, regroup, move on. If we win then it's another notch away against a depleted good side. Tigers are the test as are Hawks, Swans+Crows away, but to win those won't be paramount, it'd be convenient. Of course nothing would be sweeter than to beat Tigers at home, and payback for Swans on their deck.

Bar Glass and Hunter, what a horrible, horrible list

Chambers had that flash in the pan season.

Good bloke Callum. Still works at the club - moved back over to Perth after his stint at Carlton.

Interesting to note that 2010, 2008 and 2000 were probably 3 of our worst years with 4, 4 and 7 wins in those seasons.

So it's very pleasing to be winning games AND debuting players.
Hopefully we don't fall away too badly and can continue the winning ways.
