Dont watch Bendigo games? dont like the kids who performed well?

I think that Prismall was very stiff to be dropped before Winders who clearly looks underdone. In regards to the Bendigo match, it is very difficult for midfielders to work with a completely new group of players, not knowing how they play and a different gameplan. For players like Davey and Hurley, playing forward or back, the essentials are all still the same. Lead and Mark. For Davey, run chase and tackle. I think that, while he did look disinterested, I think it was more to do with being unable to adapt to his fellow midfield group where he has been playing with others so regularly.

Prismall played very well in our first NAB match in Perth, and believe that he should get a reprieve after his demotion to the twos, so that he may show what he can do around the team that his form should be truly measured on.

If people actually followed Slattery beyond "Oh he started on Betts. Betts kicked 5 goals. Must be Hank's fault!", others wouldn't need to point out what should be the obvious.

There have been plenty of games where Slattery's been killed, but there seems to be a crowd on here that get their claws out for the sake of it.

Slattery struggles against the small marking forwards (Medhurst, Ballantyne, SJ, Ebert), so I honestly hope he doesn't play on LeCras. He's not good enough for those sorts of players. Feel better now?

Who are these crumbers Slattery stops?

Well I'd argue at the very least he nullified SJ in Round 1 (2 goals, compared to 6 last year), broken even with Ballantyne (remembering that one of his goals was when he was off him; I think McVeigh went to him), and beat the following players while on them: Betts, Yarran and Simpson.

As for the crumbers that are better match-ups for Hank:
Betts/Yarran, Davis/Dick, Byrnes/Stokes, Rioli/Ladson/Stokes, Campbell/Thomas, Gray, Hislop/Nahas, Milne/Schneider, Akermanis.

Anf06, the starting 4 for each quarter was (since i had written it down)

Q1: Laycock, Marigliani, Scanlon and Prismal
Q2: Laycock, Marigliani, Scanlon and Prismal
Q3: Laycock, Marigliani, Scanlon and Davey
Q4: Laycock, Marigliani, Prismal and Davey

So, 3 of the 4 quarters 'Pris' started in the centre square. What do Davey, Marigliani, Silverlock (who spent times in the square), Myers all have in common? add to that list Skipworth (2009 Essendon listed player Hayden Skipworth) and now tell me what they all have in common?

So they spend 5 days a week together, fine tuning their skills, set ups, preview up coming matches. And your trying to tell me that he (Prismall) struggles to play with the guys in the VFL.

And you mention the game plan. It felt de ja vue at times, me yelling at the guys to "KICK IT" cause they were handball happy coming out from the back half. The execution between the senior side and the reserves side is vastly different, with "Bendigo struggling to clear the ball from defensive 50" featuring heavily in my notes on the game on Saturday, just goes to show, Bendigo and Essendon must be trying to apply the same type of game plan.

I am of the opinion that everyone needs to earn their spot back, Prismal (on saturday's form) does not warrant a spot back in the seniors.

Who do we drop any way for Pris if he ever did come in?

Howlett, Hardingham (why do you think he did not play for Bendigo?) now Davey (on form) are all before him in line for a recall/promotion to the senior side.

Now you're just pulling my leg.

That McVeigh is being considered is insanity.

There are very few things that keep people in hospital as long as he was in there for.

I can only see knighta making one change this week.
Lonergan out, Hurley in.

Davey, Prismall, Neagle, Myers, still have to prove more to come in

I'd have to agree.

For all those having Melksham or Colyer out, Knights said both would get a game this week (In yesterdays press conference)

Slatts got pantsed by Ballantyne, not even I'm going to argue that. Done like a dinner.
He did a good job on Stevie Johnson in rd1 (2 goals, 1 BS one from the sideline 1 unstoppable in junk time).
Was *passable* on Betts without being great.
Houli's finally showed a bit. Wouldn't mind seeing him down back as well. Poor man's Gilbee, possibly?

How far would Marigiliani be away from getting a game HFF?

Um... good question really.

He is a good clearance player, thats why he was brought to the club. I would think that an injury to one of our premier midfielders (Watson, Stanton) would be his only chance at getting a game at senior level, as he needs to be upgraded first :(. Spewing reas I think he can add that second big body (next to Watson) in the midfield.

Assuming he wasn't a rookie, how close would be? ie. Signs are good for keeping him on in 2011 or just too early to tell?

Didnt see your second question Godke ;)

I think he is just an insurance policy installed in case players like Myers and Lonergan do not take the next step.

Sadly for Myers, time is running out for him, and with 'Riggers' looking to hold his spot (on the EFC list) he will be doing everything in his powers to stay there.

I have even thought that, with the mature aged recruiting we did, these "kids/men" were brought in to play for Bendigo, bit of a far fetched oppinion, but why else would we pick up 4 mature aged guys in the draft? to play for Bendigo, or Knights must think that, he has a better crop of players than he does (by just scraping into finals).

As insulting as that is to Lonergan ... it would probably be true. :s

But it means one less option to rotate through the midfield. Our 4th quarter efforts, even against an injury-affected Carlton (McLean and Robinson struggling), haven't been great.

We might be faster than WCE ... but are we fitter?

there's a VFL rule where aligned clubs can only play so many AFL listed players. Due to minimal injuries Essendon had to leave some players out - Howlett and Hardingham both saved as emergencies for AFL.

Prismall was ordinary and does not deserve a recall even though I think he was unlucky to be dropped in the first place. Whether it was right or wrong to be dropped he still needs to work harder when playing VFL.
