Kirby
Shambolic Rube
I have a really bad feeling about this game. I hope it's just the "Sidebottom out blues" but we are going to be seriously weak through the midfield.

Beams game was interesting. My only ever criticism of him for us is that because he plays so low in the congestion he tends to find and dish out backwards too much when we had Ball in there. Felt he could have played slightly more outside to break and kick. Last night he was totally inside and dishing backwards and was pretty ineffective for the most part.

Please make it clear for me then.
I say he is.
OUT: Goldsack (He is an over rated lazy waste of space), Sidebottom (We will miss him), Williams (35% disposal efficiency can't be overlooked), Oxley (Needs to do better, if he can't make an impression against Brisbane, what chance has he got V Adelaide)
IN: Karnezis (He is Goldsack that can get more of the ball, and kick goals), Witts (should be fit), Seedsman (Better than Williams), Kennedy (Not sure why he gets overlooked to start with).
crisp was pretty disappointing, expected more from him. a lot of times he just had the opportunity to be physical and didnt. probably holds his spot tho.
broomhead for sidebottom is the most like-for-like, i reckon thats all that will change tho. maybe a small defender out for Wittsy
It's all well and good to talk about getting games into Broomhead and Freeman etc. but the fact is that Dwyer is miles ahead of these blokes on performance, and given we are missing Sidebottom, Greenwood, JT, (and arguably Beams), I really think now is the time to go for the experience we so desperately need.

I have nothing but love for De Goey, it's just with Buck's post-match comments that he is unsure if he has the tank to run out a full game, combined with him fading in a few pre-season matches, suggests that him getting a run in the VFL wouldn't be the worst thing. However I don't have him as an out anyway.I'm worried about Sammy's pace against the Crows. He is slick with his hands and a great footballer, but on a small ground like Etihad we can get seriously done (think the Bulldogs last year) if our press can't get back in time.
I'd be going for youth, and Broomy is a quick unit off the mark. Creative around goals, too.
Not sure about the hate for De Goey - one and a bit quarters of footy in the season proper is no time to properly assess his worth. Hell, a lot of the BenKen supporters have been vocal enough about the opportunities he's missed by being a sub. By all accounts JdG has been a solid contributor in the preseason and he's got just enough x-factor to provide some spark for the team on Saturday.
Given Adelaide is reasonably tall, I'd want Gault in to stretch their defence a bit. If we have Cloke and White running up through the 45m arc and taking the better defenders, it makes sense to drop Ox and have a 3rd mobile tall to work with (and help out Grundy vs Jacobson in the ruck!)
Out: Sidebottom, Oxley
In: Broomhead, Gault

I tend to think that Broomhead's finish to 2014 is certainly the equal of anything Dwyer has put up to date. So it makes sense to me to play someone with a higher ceiling given he arguably has similar runs on the board, particularly given he brings three attributes that the side needs (goal sense, pace, and good disposal). He certainly needs to work on finding more of the ball, but I think he is a class above VFL and that the AFL is where he needs to develop.... but I can see why you disagree and have no problem with it.
Plus I think Gault will come in (to help Grundy) to stretch their back line, unfortunately for either Oxley or Ramsey.Broomy in for Sidebottom. He's our future, we should play him. Hasn't been in outstanding form, but could rise to the occasion if given the opportunity.
Agree in the second quarter we were starting to build our lead and remember Crispo getting amongst it with good use too.I thought Crisp was nearly best man on field at one point.
Not sure what you were watching
I think conditions being very different this week means we will go taller so I see Gault as the likely in assuming Witts isnt ready. Sidebottom could be replaced directly by this move although we may be light on for mids. Maybe Marley could be tried there but more likely s defender out and a mid in. If that is the case Ramsay my be the unlucky one. As to which mid I am not sure VFL practice match form will take the others past Karnezis. None of Broomy, BK or PK are true mids but could rotate there so Karnezis probably gets the nod
I have changed a lilttle from a prev post I think but for now favour
Out Sidey, Ramsay
In Gault, Karnezis
