Has it been mentioned that Cloke is a chance to miss with a knee problem?
Apparently copped a knock on Saturday and is still feeling it...
Expected to train a full session on Thursday and play but the fact that it's even being talked about makes me a little bit uneasy.
Oh crap! If that happens then we need to hire someone to walk around with Bucks making sure he goes nowhere near any black cats, ladders or mirrors. FFS! This is getting beyond a joke. I know that so far the numbers are within what clubs expect but why is it that every time we get a new injury it's to a player we can ill afford to lose. Unfortunately, it probably just seems that way because our depth of experience isn't what it once was.

Your joking yeah

Your joking yeah
I wish I was! I wouldn't joke about this!
They said he's expected to train and also play but I don't feel comfortable that there's even a problem worth mentioning, showed footage of him from yesterday and he looked really proppy as well.

Surely Clokey will be alright for the weekend, but round 2 and he's got a sore knee...not the best situation! Especially when he had knee tendinitis last year..

You would think with the injuries we currently have it is crucial to have Cloke in the side.
Not a great sign if he has a sore knee already.
May find that he will play alot deeper this week.. Rather than up the ground.
Surely if this is the case we would bring in another tall to play forward with Cloke & White

I certainly hope so. The role he played against Brisbane was huge IMO and I would think his loss would be something we would struggle to cover. In fact, I daresay it would be virtually impossible. I haven't seen the report referred to but I certainly hope it's wrong.

Cloke's knee will be an interesting early test of our "no risk" policy which was applied to Broomhead last weekend...
What was the no risk with Broomy - fitness in the humidity or an injury?

I think if he's fit enough to play he must play up field. I don't want to see him deep all season, if he does that we revert to the old bomb is to cloke 3 on 1. He has to play up field to have an impact.

In the CTV with Goldy, Clokey's knee was bandaged, (skin colour though).
He got a knock on it, (from memory) when Claye Beams took his feet in the 2nd qtr and he got up and kicked the goal.
Yesterday was the first training session after the game and they'd all have some sore spots.
That said, I do believe he needs to be managed for an on-going issue.

86 metres gained which made him 357th in the AFL - However, 545 metres gained assisted (by team mates after his disposal) 2nd in the AFL… Stats can and always are deceiving mate and can always paint whatever picture the author wants them to paint, whether that author is supporter, player, commentator or coach!
I re-watched the 1st half, watching Beams closely. He had around 16 possies. 13 handballs, 3 kicks. 9 handballs were backwards and 1 kick went sideways and out of bounds without being touched. Of those 9 backward handballs, only 2 resulted in a clear Lions possession from the recipient of the Beams handballs' disposal, with the majority of the receivers disposal under severe pressure. 1 clear possie was from free kick in a 50/50 marking contest. The remaining 7 resulted in a clear Pie possession on 3 occasions with the others halved with a throw in or ball up.

But as you say, stats can paint any picture the author etc wishes. Facts were, Beams was handballing backwards under extreme pressure to a team mate also under pressure, which resulted in a quick kick forward to know one in particular. We did a great job of nullifying what he does best and that's kicking into the forward 50. It wasn't a good game from Beams under any circumstance. He'll do better though once he adjusts to life getting extreme pressure that Pendles and Swan have dealt with most of their careers.

Are these actual stats or just illustrating a point? If actual where are they available from?

short term thing I'm guessing as he was amongst the best in VFL practice match.

Yeah just short term. He was only 50-50 for the VFL game.

He's too good for that level so getting amongst the best is no surprise, but to do it on the back of being in doubt for the match is encouraging (if the VFL review can be relied on).

Open training session tomorrow at 10pm so we should find out if any of the players who got knocks vs the Lions are in doubt.

By the way the Crows are going to wear their all white outfit against us, even more reason to hate them, they will look like old school umpires.

Who takes Tex? Frost or Brown and why?
It will be Frost because he is a perfect match for him athletically. He's nowhere near the footballer of course but he has the athletic traits needed to play on him.
