Time for this side to play as a "TEAM". I believe Ratten has lost them with his structure of smalls no game plan when things go wrong to many passengers and down hill skiers. No sheperding, No sacrifising your own game for your teammate. The team we just got smashed by in no way has a great "NAMED" side but they are playing the best "TEAM" football of anyside at the moment. We could learn a thing or two about sacrificial acts and 1% actions from the Pies. Just little blocks, knock ons etc are what win games and unfortunately our boys are too worried about themselves to worry about helping eachother out. I think we need to bring back a bloke that bleeds for the club (WIGGINS) and watch how he presents at every contest and hope it rubs off on the young influential kids that we are developing (Yarran,Garlett,Ellard,Joseph).
Changes
IN: Wiggins,Houlihan,Ohailpin,Hadley,Thornton
OUTS:Henderson(go back find form),Carrazzo(turns ball over too much),Bower(still underdone),Fisher(too slow)Ellard(doesn't deserve to be dropped but will be) Lets get a structure built around Waite at Full Forward(staying put) Setanta(CHF at least will bring to ground and fight hard),Hampson(FP right next to Waite out of square),Wiggins(HF leading up wings) keep Yarran and Garlett on opposite wings and run run run kicking long into FF with betts as crumber.Hadley included to block for Judd,Murphy,Grigg,Simpson and Gibbs through midfield. Thornton to go back and take Bowers place (at least he can hold his marks).
Lets go Blue boys time to play 2gether 4 eachother and show we are ready to play finals put the past 6 weeks of non committed footy behind us and smash the Bloody Bombers!!!!

I like those ins. A bit of grunt.

Ellard shouldn't be dropped. I think Waite needs to be locked down at CHF instead of being swung around the ground so much.

Wouldn;t go changing the small forward line too quickly. This is likely to cause us the most grief.

Wiggins has now missed four weeks with an injury, won't be coming in.

Houlihan will definitely be a show, Robinson, Davies, Thornton and maybe even Kerr could put their hand up if they play well tomorrow.

Bit of an over reaction in the OP, we gain nothing by dropping Henderson or Bower even though he is struggling. Hadley was in the team to block against Freo, didn't do it once while Judd got mauled by McPhee, I'd much rather Grigg and Ellard doing it until McLean is right to play again.

Bower-------Thornton------Johnson

Russell-------Jamison------Scotland

Murphy-------McLean------Simpson

Walker-------Waite-------Robinson

Yarran------Hendersen----Betts

Foll: Warnock, Judd, Gibbs

Bench: Hampson, Hadley, Houlihan, Fisher

Fisher won't get dropped.

Didn't get a chance to show what he can offer, and had a solid enough game to hold his spot regardless.

I agree Sin but there will be a lot of over reacting for a while now.

Any chance that Tuohy could be called upon? Or does he still have a lot of learning to do?

I want to keep Hammo in for his development but I want Sauce in for Hille.
Emu and Hendo are way out of form but Carlos was dreadful v Willie so let's not panic. Hopefully Armie can come in but it may be for Juddy - no matter what the game situation is, we must have run from the backline. I would like Ratts or the back coach to take stats on run pasts - make it part of their mindset. Hoops has been out a couple now and would need to have a big week on the track.

In: Army Sauce Mitch
Out: Juddy ? ? (Carrot and Scotty might shake the tree)

Out: Carazzo, Joseph, Scotland, Judd
In: Davies, Houlihan, Robinson, Hadley

Hadley for Judd is only if Judd doesn't pull up.

Ellard can go tag someone in the middle. I'd rather not go super defensive against the Bombers.

Davies and Robinson to add some beatdowns.

Houlihan, because we suck without him.

Even if Judd and Scotland aren't injured, might be worth resting them in the upcoming weeks.

Keep in mind Bullants play Sunday, Blues play Friday night, thus 5 day break.

Might save the arses of a few of the Carlton Board untouchables.

No chance i think rookie upgrade is finished for the year.I think he had to be nominated before the cut of.I think only the rookies can play are the ones taking long term injury list players like Kreuzer spot.

I would probably back Carazzo and Scotland this week with the weaker side but i feel it will be close to their last game this season if they play poor if we lose and face missing the 8.

Broken ribs ground Gumbleton

Out for the year.

Looking forward to Alwyn Divey throwing his head back after he's tackled below his shoulders.

God knows how he missed out on a Logie for his performance against St Kilda last night.

Thornton probably through a brick at his TV.

Would make a joke of the new anti-dive rules if he isn't fined for that effort. :thumbsd:

it will be interesting to see who Rats makes the scapegoats this week, I could bet plenty of dollars Ellard will be one, although I reckon he was the only one having a crack in the midfield today winning the contested ball

AJ and Carazzo should be the first two dropped, they are costing our side dearly with poor use of the ball and are undisciplined

This is the biggest misnomer being bandied around by Carlton supporters at the moment.

The problem is OUR LACK OF STRUCTURE, not the player's effort.

:thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Been saying it for weeks. Effort might be a part of the problem but it definitely isn't the main one. Unfortunately it's become far too easy to stop our run.

lol can we bring in spirit, passion and guts?

Just on this, although it would be nice to think every player would lead the way with this stuff, it's not the case for any club that's ever taken the field. I'm not sure how many of these type players each club has but of the guys who can lead by example at our club we have three (Kreuzer, McLean, Wiggins) unavailable through injury and Robinson in the VFL. There are still a few guys that will bleed for the club, but we certainly need more hard men in the team to inspire the players and set an example for the young guys.
