Changes vs Essendon

My view is with the season over, reward SANFL form and find fringe players who will take their chance. Very disappointed with Ah Chee, Neade and Stewart on Sunday. Lobbe showed a heartbeat of form for the first time in a long time but I still think that he would benefit from a run in the SANFL where we are instructed to go to him wherever possible for contested marks. So for me-

Out- Lobbe, Neade, Ah Chee, Stewart

In- Redden, Palmer, Moore, Pittard (or Colquhoun)

If White is fit, he comes in as the sub instead of Palmer. Young gets a full game either way.

Nobody gets gifted a game but I'm happy to keep rotating Mitchell, Amon, Moore, Young, AhChee, Colquhoun, Neade, S.Gray, Palmer, Stewart and whoever else plays well in the SANFL until one of them actually takes their opportunity. That's what we need most. Our fringe players to improve their output.

I think Ken will shape his future at Port with his selections from now on. With the season over we will get to see what vision he will present with his selections and the way he will groom this side. He has a seriously difficult job imo.

Seriously difficult or not its his job and he's very well paid to get it right.
Mind you the frustration on here re our form tells me some of us have lost more than a bit of faith.
Season effectively over in July is a disaster that needs to be fixed.
Success brings sponsors and our results have been embarrassing at times this year.

Is it fair to say he is just another Tom Logan???
No offence to Tom he has played a good role at Port shown a lot of guts and endeavor but skill level is poor.
From what ive seen of Achee he is much like Logan.

This is the perfect time to put some games in some of our younger players.

totally agree, we can't be using young players as the scapegoat for poor team performance.

Using 2014 as an example, Impey was given a good stretch of 15 games in the seniors. I hazard a guess that if Impey made his debut in 2015, he would have also been in and out of the side.

Forget 2015, lets start 2016 now.

Cam as well ....I find it hard to think of a player who looks as clumsy and defensively terrible...

We have not played badly and it was obvious against the Crows that we are a better side..

Leave Stewy down back, Pittard to the wing for outside run is probably the only tweak

I don't think we can keep on believing we are a better side, I wish I was wrong though..

I am hoping that 2015 for us was the 2009 for the Hawks and the 2006 (?) for the Cats

On a positive note, a great game by Redden on the weekend and lets hope that he finishes off 2015 with confidence and becomes a genuine option for first ruck in 2016 and puts pressure on Lobbe.

Pittard for O'Shea. Moore for Young. I don't see Young as someone who will improve and he has this tendency to think like a supporter, that any holding the ball decision against him is just because the umpire doesn't like him. Moore has the ability and was pretty high in most 2009 phantom drafts, I'm not saying he will be more than just a useful 2nd tier player but this year has shown that 22 first team players with a huge drop to 23 and above doesn't cut it.
