Friday night football again, we can't afford two stinkers in a row. Will be a tough ask travelling to Freo against a team on fire and with self confidence following three wins on the trot. The Hawks have little confidence following a horrible start to the season due to a number of reasons, injury, form and big headedness. Changes are needed, we can't afford to carry injured blokes into matches...Hodge, Bateman - both carried injuries and gave nothing, would have been better off playing Morton and Schoenmakers. We were already nursing Osborne and to a lesser extent Campbell.

We need to make some changes this week. Hodge and Bateman will miss through injury, with Croad and Ladson still missing for a lengthy period of time. Gilham and Guerra could return alongside Young, but who knows how many we'll risk. Ellis is also a chance.

I'd bring in Gilham and Guerra if match fit, our backline has been horrible, and Young if he is ready or Ellis. All four won't be back, maybe being realistic two will be back.

Ins - Gilham/Guerra and Young/Ellis
Outs - Hodge (inj.) and Bateman (inj.)

Would also look at bringing back Morton for the wide spaces at Subi and maybe Renouf for Stokes if Gilham doesn't get up.

Can't see Gilly playing, and I'd expect Young to be out for a bit longer. Hodge and Bateman out.

So I'd be confident of the following:

In: Guerra, Ellis
Out: Hodge, Bateman

Beyond that, some other possible ins are: Young, Gillham, Renouf, Morton

Possible outs: Stokes, Murphy

Stokes has just been ineffectual this year. Murphy is a ball-butchering turnover-merchant.

No way would we drop Murphy. Has been in our top handful of improved players this season and yes he occassionally butchers the ball but at least he's having a go, unlike 75% of his teammates.

All things considered, you're probably right. We don't have the luxury of dropping Murphy when he's one of the few players who is both fully fit, and trying his guts out.

Morton definatly in, it seems silly now that we dropped a pure outside mid and thats the thing we struggled with on friday

In-Morton/Guerra/Ellis
Out-Hodge/Bateman/Mitchell

Give Mitchell a rest, he;s obviously labouring, and letting him skip an interstate game will freshen him up IMO

The injury gods will make our changes for us.

Clarko, just pull out all the injured guys, rather play kids than senior players who are effectively knobbled through injuries.

Agreed on Morton with the big tank at Subiaco.

Don't see how you can take out Taylor for Renouf against Sandilands. We've all seen Renoufs stats of hit-outs to advantage, which are woeful at best and his around the ground stuff doesn't make up for the difference.

Out: Hodge, bateman, stokes, mitchell?, whitecross if post above is correct
In: Ellis, Morton, schoe?, ? , ?. Gilham and guerra would be nice, but still we are going to field a heavily depleted team.

We need some runners, but theres not much to pick from.

Given trip to subi, you'd think we'd be more conservative with players (i.e. guerra)

Out: Hodge, Bateman, Ossi (if wrist is problem), Taylor
In: Morton, Shoe, Renouf, Ellis/Kennedy/Young - whoever is 100%

Just keep giving Renouf a go, there is only one way to get him better at the tap work and i would prefer his endeavour and foot skills than Taylor.

However remember clarkson said that the continual changes in personnel doesn't help the structure so prob won't drop any players, just rest those that are injured. Mitchell will play unless he is really unfit. He is like Hodge, he will refuse to be rested even though not 100%

Surely not. Mitch has to play, regardless of whether he isn't 100%. His output at the moment is still extremely valuable and we need him to beat Freo. We can't afford to go 3-5.

We can if it means blokes that are carrying injuries (I don't believe Mitch is) have a few weeks off and we get our A Graders back on the park.

Out - Hodge (inj) Bateman (inj) Taylor, Stokes
In - Morton, Ellis, Guerra, Renouf

Renouf mightn't be a dominant in the ruck as taylor is, but realistically no one is going to beat Sandiland to the hitout, let's try and punish him on the rebound using Renouf a lot around the game.

Morton has the tank for Subiaco, Ellis and Guerra if fit are givens. If Gilham is in, put him straight back in too.

What about a Muston??? He's quick, but i realise it may be a bit early. Would be handy though.

I notice Ellis and Mustan in the best for the BoxHill Hawks.

Ellis is a must inclusion. I would love to see Mustan out there (finally!), but I dare say they will give him a couple more games in the 2's.

We are in real trouble this week. Our skills really let us down on Friday and only Cyril stood up and looked dangerous and quick.

WTF

Taylors performance against two small kids was discracefull. To get floged was one of the worst performances I have seen. If Renouth and Bob are fit he should never play again. His skill are ordinary his mobility is ordinary his second efforts do not happen. And he can not even get taps outs to avantage against mere kids.

Renouth atleast can run and chase. he will atleast jump at the centre bounce.

Please never let me see Taylor played again

Outs Bateman Inj Hodge Inj Taylor omitted Moss omitted

In's Renouth Ellis Morton Guerra

Given up hoping for Gilham assume the worst

Dowler needs to play on the key forward. No point playing poor old Bob. give Dowler the big critter. He has the size time for him to show us he can take on the key forwards.

Stokes only keeps his spot as I can only see him running with Kerr

Morton will be handy on Subi

Taylor hopefully will have his paper stamped (Never play again)or (only open as last resort)

Take in a fully fit side Clarko no matter what players reputations are and I will be happy.

Agree with you on Simon Taylor. To be given a football lesson by Tom Bellchambers numerous times was embarrasing and very difficult to watch.

Out Whitecross groin injured Hodge groin injured Stokes hamstring injured Osborne wrist injured Bateman calf injured Taylor omitted

In Gilham Ellis Guerra Renouf Young Morton.

For all you calling on Taylor to be dropped. You do realise that he had more hitouts to advantage in the first quater that Renouf has had in the whole of 2009:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I know what I have seen in the last few weeks. Taylors been hopeless. Doesn't get enough quality hit outs doesnt jump cant tackle has no skills is slow and turns the ball over cant defend

No wonder your an apprentice...apprentices tend to be full of crap...

Ummm....I thought we were playing Freo, not WCE. Is there another Kerr I'm not aware of?

As far as dropping Taylor for Renouf goes, if you read the match reports from Box Hill Renouf isn't exactly setting the world on fire in the two's. For mine, Taylor will be needed against Sandilands - Renouf is not yet strong enough.
