Changes vs Freo

I think a lot of supporters that are suggesting Winderlich to come in are stuck in the old mindset of needing to rush players back from injuries like we did last year. We are in an awesome position of being able to get the guys who are underdone (Licha, JD and Gumby) and the guys who need to play into form (Jetta, Hardingham, Pears etc) in to the right shape physically and form wise before bringing them in. Assuming Crammers will be 100%, there should be no change, except maybe the sub because I don't think Kommer's defensive forward style of play is suited to the sub.

winderlich aint playing this week, he's going to play 4 quarters in the VFL this week.

i'd say he'd be back for the Saints game. perhaps for Merrett.

this week, no changes. i could see them perhaps bringing in Jetta for some extra leg speed, but lets see

I think Winders will follow the same path Zaka has from now. A full VFL game or two, then return as the sub and then play 3/4 the next week then play a full game.

The whole "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" idea is all well and good, except for the fact that we're playing at Patersons. If we change our team, it's not going to be a result of form, but who is more suited to the wide expanses, which is something we've struggled with previously.

Jetta could be a chance to come in, but there's no certainty that we'll have an unchanged team.

Yeah.. consistency is the key.. however I would still bring in Jetta for Merrett/Kommers this week. I strongly believe Jetta offers more to our group, especially in Perth, than Merrett or Kommer.

Winders will come in when he is ready.. but no need to rush him. I think the club has shown through its management of Zaka and even Crameri on Saturday that it is taking a 'safety first' approach.

would we rest fletcher this week , with the thinking of having stkilda and collingwood in the space of 5 days after this game? and bring pears in this week seeing it is in perth! also while he has gone well first 2 weeks, i would leave merrett out this week and bring jetta in . with melksham as sub

Baguley is supposed to be another nutter. He'll do fine.

Out of all the players we've played in the first two games he troubles me the most.

I'm definitely not sold. I don't like the idea of Baguley playing on somebody who can bring out the arsey tricks like Ballantyne. He will turn Baguley inside out.

As I said in an earlier post I don't think there will be any forced changes, but perhaps they might give Kommer a full game in the VFL this weekend and bring Jetta in at Subiaco.

You know, all this talk about Jetta and horses for courses at Subi is just making me think of ant555's posts over the years about Jetta not getting zone footy. and surely at subi, a player not getting the zone is just as much a reason to keep him out of a game as his quick pace is to play him? forget about the attack, if you intend on playing Jetta at subi, and possibly in the midfield, do you trust him defensively? to position himself in the right spots and what not?

If davey etc get injured sure bring him in but i don't see any reason to drop anyone for him. It's not like he's 100 times quicker than Merrett...

Would you say Merrett's more creative than Jetta? I tend to think that although both are more likely to play forward than anywhere else, Jetta is the more creative of the two, especially further up the ground. With the midfield depth Freo have I think Jetta's creativity with the ball and chemistry with Ryder might be more valuable.

Would love to see Jetta back but have in the back of mind that it would be exciting to bring him and Winder in for ANZAC Day because we will need the run.

No change unless Crameri is injured. If he is then bring in Gumby.

People are quick to forget that football is a two way game. Jetta is a front runner and the coaching panel have realised that Merret is a better defender than Jetta.

You never need to rest Fletcher - he backs up well from a short break.

Biggest myth in club football, 5 day breaks, 6 day breaks, 7 day breaks. They are professional footballers who have the biggest and best facilities in the land to help recover from the rigours of AFL Football. If they cant recover from a week off, something must be wrong!

Hopefully Hardingham doesnt come back in.

We look so much better coming out of defence without his pathetic kicking.

Baguley isnt a great kick, but he has done a great job so far, and Hibberd has improved his kicking so far. Fletch can offer the versatility that we need, with Carlisle and Hooker (who i dont rate, but has done nothing wrong this season) take the talls.

Everyone on this board had Hardingham in thier best 22 at the start of the year, including me, but in his absence, I have seen an improved backline, and Hardingham has now gone from pivitol to handy replacement for when the injuries occur.

We are in much better shape, than this time last year.

Table Tennis is excited.

Same can be said about jetta not getting a game. he will come in no doubt, but he is going to have to improve and be bloody consistent to continously get a game.

Merrett, Kommer have come in and put on a hell of a lot more defensive pressure, creating more goals, rather than only trying to be on the end of them.

Jetta can play, but good sides have players as good as jetta, battling to get games.

Look at the nba, 82 games a season,often 3 or 4 in a week!
