PERFECT

However not that i wanna change our team, but don't you think our team is a bit small. We'll kick out 4 190cm+ and only bring in 2 190cm+.

Apart from that, i like the team

Bryan MUST get a run soon, we're not gonna move up the ladder in a huge hurry this year so we need to give him a good run. Carrazzo on Wells you'd imagine, maybe even Bannister could rotate tagging heavily. Blackwell also needs a good run. As previously mentioned, CHB could well suit Bryan....you just never know.

I don't understand, why MUST he get a run? From everything we have heard, he hasn't impressed??

Not to many changes for mine:

McGrath Livingston Thornton
Lappin Whitnall Russell
Simpson Bentick Walker
Houlihan Prendergast Murphy
Kennedy Fevola Betts
French Scotland Stevens
McLaren Bannister Wiggins Blackwell

In: McLaren, Blackwell
Out: Teague, Koutoufides (Inj)

I'd expect a few changes because they reckon that they have looked at the list and will only play the "future" in the last half of the season.

Players like Livingston, Teague, Prenda and co. should get dropped.

Out: Prendergast, Teague, Koutoufides, Livingston

B: Carrazzo Bryan Lappin

C: Simpson Bentick Walker
HF: Stevens Kennedy Houlihan
F: Betts Fevola Wiggins
R: French Scotland Murphy
INT: Blackwell McLaren Bannister McGrath.

If Houlihan loses his appeal, keep Prendergast in the side, put him on the bench and let Blackwell start on the half forward line.

I think your right, but, who would replace Livingston & Prendergast. We need either Waite, Fisher, O'hAilpin, Hartlett, Bower, etc etc to come forth and I don't think they have just yet with 3 or 5 (sad) being injured. Teague I would replace with Carrazzo this week. Lets see if they do though.

Did any of you guys who are calling for Bryan to be included in the side see him play at Full Back on the weekend?

He was slaughtered by Le Cras in the first quarter and was moved into the Ruck by quarters end. Bryan is a very lazy footballer and has not earned a place in the senior side.

No way he gets a game this week.

Yep, looks very good. i'll think we'll win this one pretty easily. :)

I hope the selection committee isn't so dumb as to play French, McLaren *and* Bryan all in the same side. None of them are going to set the world on fire with their tapping, but Bryan definitely offers something as a link player with that incredible left foot.

And I also hope that they don't condemn Bannister to yet another tagging role where he isn't best employed. Give him a set position in defence, preferably full back, and with a brief to run off whenever he can.

I know he isn't eligible, but I was impressed with Ryan Jackson's poise and choices during Saturday's game. Agree with Blackwell and Carazzo, although Carazzo's kicking is dreadful at times for some reason.

He did some nice stuff on the last line on Saturday, but fluffed a kick which resulted in a turnover. It seemed to come off the book OK, but began floating after a few metres. I suppose some bio-mechanist could figure out what's wrong with his kicking action, but I can't see it. Not enough back-spin perhaps?

Russell didn't show enough on the weekend to justify a recall?
russel was never dropped. he played against west coast and therefore is still in the team until the official changes are announced on thursday.

So what do you suggest? Keep Prendergast in, Replace French with DeLuca etc. Unfortunately we don't have any rucks that set the world on fire but McLaren is a better back up than DeLuca or Prendergast as we found out in the last qtr against Wet Toast:(
The only reason I would give Bryan a game is to give at least a few games at the top level before tossing him on the scrap heap at season end! He may surprise us if given a chance. Since Kouta, Waite, Hartlett etc. are all injured at the moment and with the possible demotion of Prenda & Teague we still have to replace talls with talls! But that is only my opinion:o

Is Teague that bad this year that you all want him gone?

Easy answer: Yes

He's lost a lot of his skills, run and confidence and he's currently taking up a spot that one of our youngsters could use.

Carrazzo was only credited with 27 touches by Ch 2 who telecast the game. I think his 40 touches accredited to him by the Herald Sun are a bit exaggerated. Russell wasn't that prominent against Nth Ballarat. But Blackwell was good and should be recalled to the senior side. I noticed Bryan, when he kicked out, was sending them at leasst 60metres. A couple were very accurate, and landed on a team mates chest. Very impressed, maybe could be trialled longer in the Bullkies at FullBack?

Dear god, please get it through your skulls that Bryan will NEVER in this lifetime or the next, in any dimension, be a defender. Not at full back, not at centre-half back. The only time he belongs there is to follow an opposition's ruckman, or take a kick out.

He is #1 a ruckman. An ordinary one, but that's his primary purpose. #2 he is a forward option, and actually not a bad one. #3, he is more than useful hanging around the middle of the ground taking marks and drilling it 60m onto somone's chest. By all means play him, but not with McLaren & French. We can't afford to load up our bench with lumbering giants when we already lack sharp on-ballers.

According to http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=274517 he had 40 touches but it is an amazing discrepancy. I could understand 1 or 2 different but 13?

I don't get a chance to watch him play VFL unfortunately and I believe there's been an attitude problem etc, some have called him lazy. I just think that we're sadly lacking in the big man department down back and they might make a defender of him yet. No one will ever know how he copes in the big time until he gets a regular run and hopefully play in a set position, be it 2nd ruck or key defence. Wiggins has proven himself with a regular run, I believe Bannister might be in the same boat - as was Carrazzo not so long ago. It's just an opinion from a diehard blues man in WA. Only throwing in my piece as I saw a little of him last year and I thought he showed something. Remember, we've got to try a few things this year as the tolerance level of our members and the like will surely drop in 2007 and beyond if we can't get some structure happening.

He'd be the obvious replacment for Kouta. Didn't see all of the game but he did make some bad turnovers though. It's one thing to get it. Another to use it well.
