In some ways Vardy would be a perfect medical sub in Simpson's eyes. 3/4 of the team are talls after all.

He's versatile. He can play the role of traffic cone forward, back or in the middle of the ground.

Yeah Vardy is not an ideal sub at all, although we have many talls that could go down during the match.
I wanted Winder in the team but I dont mind him missing one WAFL game for the experience of travelling with the boys and seeing everything we do in preparation and then experiencing the stadium as a spectator. I think that is far more valuable than one WAFL game. Wouldnt want to do it too often though.

We should make a club rule that you don't debut unless you go on the field. Sure, you might have games against your name, but that's just technical BS. I wouldn't want us to avoid naming the best sub, just because we were worried about a debut.

That's about the best sense I can make of it. Give him a look, expose him so it's less daunting later. Keep pressure on Petch and JJ too.

The other part of me would've liked him to have the opportunity to consolidate his WAFL form with more games. We don't appear settled with our small forwards, so there's logic to both taking him and leaving him behind.
