Wasn't the bloke on the left sucking beers with a blondie during the bombers game?

This is a massive game. We win this and we are set up to have a really good crack at Top 4. It will also show us a lot about the playing group and hard they will work for each other when the chips are down.

I have done the most powerful thing I can to help get us over the line...I've tipped Richmond!

Travelled and planning to play (unless he goes downhill before tomorrow night). No tall defenders travelled as back-up.

It's a bit baffling to me unless the club has zero doubts on McGovern getting up.

Who is going to sub? Rosa and release Yeo forward to HUNTAAAA! the game away from Richmond late? I can't see any point to making Nelson sub.

Or the club decided that going small would be preferable to bringing in Barrass.

If Gov plays (and Nelson for Butler) I think Duggan will be sub and Rosa emergency. Or potentially Sheed emergency and Rosa/Duggan sub.

If Gov misses I think Rosa will play HBF. Maybe Duggan sub.

Even phill walsh said don't underestimate how hard it is coming off two six week breaks playing a team who has had a 15 day break on 360

It could be a factor but it won't be the factor. The AFL industry across the board is waaaaay too precious about the issue. I see NRL players involved in State of Origin in midweek backing up for their club on the weekend. I look at the most brutal sport in the world, American football, and see teams coping with the occasional Sunday arvo-Thursday night turnaround. Teaspoon of cement FFS!

McGovern isn't training with the main group. Didn't do the warm-up and isn't kicking the ball at-all. Only doing upper body skills. Not doing lane or circle work.

Concerning.

You completely lost me at most brutal sport in the world American football haha How many kms do rugby player's do in there 80 minute games ? Even the professionals have said that it's hard to do phil walsh said it on AFL 360 just last night, one team will have played 3 games in 12 games the other 2 in 14, It has to have some affect but as Adam Simpson has said we will not use it as an excuse to play poorly , It's game on !!!

Hardwick recently said that if it rains, we'll more than likely drop one of the 3 tall forwards (either Griff or Ty obviously). Maybe the theory is that even if Gov isn't 100%, we might be without one of the bigs so it won't matter too much anyway?

Current forecast for Friday night is 12 degrees with 30% chance of showers.

So does that mean that you would still drop 30% of your forward talls? That equates to one anyway.

I am thinking Sheed will play full minutes. He has some of our freshest legs.

Maybe Hacksaw to sub.

B: Nelson Schoey Hurn
HB: Shep Gov Wellingham
C: Gaff Pridda Selwood
HF: Hill Darling Masten
F: Cripps Kennedy LeCras
R: Naita Shuey Yeo

I: Sheed, Sinclair, Ellis
S: Duggan/Rosa

I don't think NFL and AFL are very transferable in terms of what it would do to a players body. NFL is about power and burst efforts. AFL is much more endurance based. Hell...how many players make up an NFL side on a given day - offensive, defensive and special teams and stoppages after every piece of brief play. A brief google has NFL players moving on the field for an average of 11 minutes per game. Assuming that is correct...11 high intensity minutes no doubt but probably not the same as running 10+km (team wide average ~2005) and still dealing with a fair bit of physical contact. The players who do the most running in an NFL side (WR and CB) are clocking about 2km per game.

I have a feeling they are doing this put the Tigers off and he will train away from the group later today.

This. There's no way you can compare NFL to NRL

If I travel to the U.S. 10times a year I'm not going to find the trip as taxing as someone who does it for the first time.
There it is everybody, the stupidest post on the entire forum.

I feel like there should be fireworks and confetti poppers going off.

I travel long haul every 5 weeks (5 on 5 off), the last 6 months has been Sth America, before that it was Africa, Europe, GOM ect ect, have been doing it for 21 years, I dont care what anyone says you don't get used to it, it's always taken me about 3 to 4 days for my body clock to adjust.

If it's taking you 4 days then your behaviours need to be changed
RECOMMENDATIONS TO DECREASE THE EFFECT OF AIR TRAVEL ON PERFORMANCE
1. In advance of travel, shift the body clock to the new time zone through means of gradual, 1 h/day, shifts in sleep scheduling.
2. Circadian phase shifting can be facilitated by proper timing of light exposure and the use of supplemental melatonin, taken by mouth, in doses ranging from 2 to 5 mg.
3. Exposure to natural daylight is preferred over exposure to artificial light.
4. Expose travellers to social contact at times appropriate for local time at the destination.
5. Avoid caffeine during travel, as this stimulant can interfere with appropriately timed restorative sleep and alter ability to effectively adapt to a new time zone.
6. Short (20–30 min) naps can be helpful in recovering from sleep deprivation and restoring a normal state of arousal.
7. Consume extra fluids for the duration of air travel to combat dehydration. Avoid alcohol or caffeine, which act as diuretics and can add to fluid losses.
8. If possible, make arrangements for dietary selections that are optimal for individual performance. While travelling, eat smaller meals before and during flight; and, upon arrival, time meals to match habits appropriate to the destination.
9. If travelling outside of the country, avoid non-bottled water, raw or minimally cooked foods, and peel fruits and vegetables that have been washed.
