(Mine was when Ross Lyon decided to rest his 7 star players the 1st week of the SC finals)

After what happened to St Kilda in the 2 weeks following (and arguably what happened to Geelong after they did it) I don't think we'll mass resting of star players at once again. Maybe 2 or 3 but not 7 or 8.

The consensus expert opinion seems to be that you don't mess with your form.

So we may not need that 3rd trade.

Apart from saving trades as a way of minimising the impact, it can be a good insurance policy to not load up on too many star players from one team.

I too find it highly unlikely that (my example with the saints)will happen very often but there were numerous posts this year where there are w,x players were dropped and y,z and maybe a zz players injured. there's no doubt as afl footy gets quicker there's is extra strain on players throw in the fact the grounds are much harder than they were 10-20 years ago. Coaches are already calling for extra/ larger bench possiblities in regards to injuries if this does come to fruition then surely SC/DT comps have to look at altinates rules. Then you are seeing sides change dramatically from week to week (under the effect of horses for courses theory) so I think there is a little room for improvement in Fantasy footy.
thats just a natural process. I think.:)

2. Increase the Salary Cap to $10.5mill to adjust with the increasing statistics of today's game (How many 40+ possession games did we have this year??)

I don't agree with this, but you do have an interesting point, not in terms of salary cap, but in the scoring system. Champion Data chose the 2300 point restriction because it was the average score in games over a period a few years ago. Things have changed and I imagine the average score is much higher now with the amount of uncontested yet effective disposal with the style of play. Do they need to allocate more points per game? I imagine at the moment, there is a lot more scaling that say 2 years ago.

Anyone like the idea of finals SC? Not sure if its already been suggested? The only reason why i play the finals DT comp is cos SC doesnt have one, simple as that...

Live scoring.

That is all.

Isn't live scoring somewhat impossible for SC though? I thought the Champion Data Player Ranking was only calculated once the game is finished, because it takes into account the time of the game where certain actions happen, and their relative importance to the whole game. An example being Nick Stevens' high score on Saturday night. He didn't have that great a game, but he kicked goals at crucial stages, so in the context of the whole game, he was important, as he helped put the Blues ahead by (what looked like a) winning margin at one point.

Yeah, that'd be cool. A preseason comp would also be good.

Huh?

How do you think we get quarter time score updates?

Yes, they are not 100% accurate, but the scores will only flucatuate 4-5 pts maximum.

I didn't know you could get quarter time score updates :o Then again, I only really look on Footy Wire, and I've been more focussed on Dream Team this year anyway. I am thinking of playing SuperCoach next season though, hence my interest in this thread.

No problem.

Remember. SC > DT.

I like the idea of being able to make three trades in a week if you haven't made any the previous week. That would test the patience of some and reward those who wait. They have done a similar thing in the Barclays fantasy comp this year. An emergency on each line would be the only other thing I'd like as suggested previously. Buying a trade is an interesting one - I don't know how you'd best manage it though worth canvassing.

Nah, the whole point of doing this is so that you *can* look back in the past, and rate an individuals effect on a game - as a whole - without concerning yourself with todays high-possesion styles of play.

These days a touch is worth less than in the old days, cause there's more of them!

I'd like to see a few simple changes:

- full fixture on each players stats page so that you can see who they have coming up to play in the next few weeks.

- Advanced searching (e.g. A defender between 500k and 560k that averages above 80, so that you can look at possible players you would like. I know other programs do this, but it would be nice for supercoach to do it by itself

More for non-overall position:
- The preview function...it's useless after a log out, i don't care about it once the weekend has started, but when playing against someone i'd like to see the preview for the week ahead.

1. Live score updates
2. A Eliminator (like Dreamteam)
3. I think all the rookie draftees prices should be the same.
4. 4 Emergencies (which would allow one in each position).
5. Prizes for the top 10 atleast, possiblly the top 50 or 100 also.

glad im not the only one :thumbsu:

Like:

- Having one emergency player for each of your four lines
- A seperate eliminator competition

Dislike:

- Being able to make more than two trades per week
- Increasing the salary cap or number of trades
- Being able to buy trades

Jury's still out:

- Vice captain scoring x 1.5 points

Supercoach is pretty good atm but there is a couple of things that could do with a tweak!

Some have been mentioned before but i will add my opinion as well!

1. Definantly the No.1 Issue for me is Live Scoring Updates. Must have feature IMO for a game of this kind.

2. Rookie Pricing must be a level playing field for ALL first year players.

3. The ability to make as many trades as you want during rounds but still have the 20 Cap. I.e you can make 4 trades in a week if you have to get the player you want and free up cash, a limit of 2 every week is not enough especially if you dont have any activity for 5 plus weeks on the trade table and then all of sudden you cop some injuries but can only make 2 moves because of the 2 trade policy.

I quite like the rookie structure.

Picking Scully and Trengove at 94k is a no brainer.

Picking them up at 179k and 174k makes the decision a lot harder.

Which is better for the diversity of the game and rewards those who do their research into the less priced guys.

They aren't rookies - silly billy.

the scully trengove etc pricing is well and truly f*cked

it was ok in 2008 when the top 10 were 30 grand cheaper

making the top 16 the most expensive is extremely stupid :thumbsd:

Yeah. It's like saying all midfielders are the same, therefore Ablett and some spud should be priced the same.

my point is that in 2008 palmer was 119,200 this year rich was 149,200 thats the f*cked up part
