Channel 7 coverage

Just thought id get this off my chest.

Is anyone else extremely pissed off at the fact that channel 7 refuse to show live games?? A couple of months ago I was expecting 8 games to be shown free to air, with most of them being live.

This week, channel 7 has the perfect chance to televise 2 live games, with the port adelaide vs st kilda game, and the geelong vs kangaroos game.

Now I dont support either of these teams, but as a dreamteamer, id like to see what is going on with my players in these games. I personally cant stand to watch delayed telecast games, especially ones which start 2 hours after the first bounce!!!

There has to be something done about this, it is killing football.

I hate the fact they are trying to differentiate themselves from last years TV coverage, little things like have the on screen score in the bottom left of screen (its blocking the play half the time!)

That massive view of the ground, they look like ants and with the jumper clashes can't tell who is who.

And finally their adverts! This is probably annoying me most. They are taking full advantage of the delayed games showing the replay then going to an advert every bloody goal! It gets worse with the sunday games sometimes they air bout 5 consecutive adverts between goals.....it's terrible i can't stand it.

The worst thing is when theyve scored a goal, show the replay, and then Bruce is about to say something awesome (like a great stat or something) and they cut to the Nab commercial.

What got to me last night was Channel 7's insistence to:

* wait for a goal to be kicked
* follow players and umpires back to the centre bounce until just before game was ready to re-start (20-30 seconds of nothingness)

THEN GO TO either one or two ads.

Whatever happened to a goal being scored, seeing a player celebrate/goal umpire signal, then going straight to the ad? Why do we have to now sit through the players/umpires returning to the square (downtime where ads used to be played) and then sit through ads???

David Schwarz's "expert" comments can't be that riveting, can they?

Yes! its extremely annoying! does any1 know why they refuse to show a live game, when its being played in adelaide! every1 loves watchin friday night footy, go down 2 the pub or at home, have beers and watch a good match live, not fken delayed by an hour! and even if its in melbourne, if your teams playing on a friday night, u always go down if ur free, it wouldnt matter if they were showin the game live.

I think Ricky is the worst of the lot. The ox is shit house as well. Tim Watson is ok but needs to be used in a different role, i actually don't mind Bruce and Dennis as the main commentators. Technically the coverage is pathetic, shoddy camera work and the whole this looks to dark to me. I watched one game at the dome and when the players ran into the shadows you could barley make them out. I though it must be the TV so i had a look at 3 other TV's and it was all the same! While channel 10 is far from perfect it is a long way ahead of 7 IMHO.

i like to watch my dreamteam players perform on the television, not just looking at the updates on fanfooty. thats why i wouldnt mind seeing some live footy.

Yeah thats where I made a mistake, but in previous years skilled stadium games have been at 1pm IIRC. Channel 7s shitness has ****ed around everything.
