Fair call TD.

Now we just have to send someone around to the Cats' hotel and kneecap Gablett and Bartel. Just for this week of course... ;)

Will head around to the Duxton, think thats where they stay these days ...:D

Ahh.. Yes any Fullback that can keep his opponent goalless whilst gathering 20 odd possessions himself and setting up countless scoring chances must be considered a good player I suppose.

Very good player... But no matchwinner compared to Chapman who I view as your best player...and future captain...Who would you rather out Chapman or Scarlett ?

Both players Chapman and Scarlett are in my dream team ;)

We have only one great Fullback but we do have up to 6-7 very good midfielders / half forwards.
Much easier to cover Chapman!

Chapman anyday! Scarlett is vital to our structure, while stopping so many goals he sets up as well. Chapman won't be our future captain either. After Harley it will be, Gaz then Selwood.

As an opposition supporter i would rather see Chapman out than Scarlett. Doesnt mean he is more important to Geelongs structure. Sucks for my dream team though. Damn you Chapman!

Scarlett has bigger scalps than Rocca

No doubt mate, just making that comment in the context of the thread, ie. who would Geelong miss more, Chapman or Scarlett? I suppose you could argue for either, both very good in their own way, my above reference to Scarlett the most recent example of his 'match-winning-ness'.

I still have doubts to whether Scarlett will line up.

A Direct quote from Matthew Scarlett "I'll definitely play this week against the Dockers."
I trained before and I felt good, so I'm ready to go. I'm 100 per cent sure I'm going to play – that's if I get picked.

From the Dockers point of view, would rather Chapman out over Scarlett any day for the simple reason that Scarlett may be able to hold a forward down all day, but Freo have plenty of forwards to carry the day and (assuming the team is playing somewhere near potential) a bunch of mid-field/H.Back scorer types (Bell, Headland, Black, MJ, etc.) but we struggle to stop good mid-fielders, especially if the team have to deal with GAblett and Bartel first before they consider any other match up.

Well said. I still think Scarlett is more important to us, I think experienced defenders are amazingly important. We'll still miss Chapman though!

By stating if the team is palying anywhere near potential do you and the other Freo supporters really get aggravated by varying degrees of onfield performance?
Ask us - we have gone thourgh it for years.........and no........it doesn get easier to live with with the passage of time!!

Ya think!!! Of course we do. Back in the late 90' and say the first few years of CC, most fans were heartened by the passion that the team played with even if results didn't come. The fact is we have more recently had a window into what the team is capable of the last couple of years, and for some reason (besides the sensational finish last season) we've only seen it in patches. I still don't think Freo is a top 2 team all said and done, but they are far better than a team that that is needing a universal alignment of biblical proportions to get it into the Final.

I think any team in the league fear Freo if they play to their potential.

And you're right, as Price said in an article earlier in the year, Freo and Geelong share a certain type of DNA. Both clubs seem to show such disparity in their best and worst, thought Geelong obviously have the more successful decade so to speak. Look forward to seeing the Cats sensational run end tomorrow in any case :).
