AFL Club
Geelong
302 career goals playing as a midfield/forward :thumbsu:

Undoubtedly one of our greatest ever players, consistently brilliant in big matches over the years and although his form last season looked to have dropped as did the start of 2012 season...he's since been steadily improving week to week.

Past month Chappy has averaged 25 disposals (9 contested), 6 marks and 2 goals per game.
Looks rejuvenated and fresh, could be in for a massive 2nd half to the season and that will definitely improve our chances of consolidating finals and a shot of going back2back.

On ya Chappy! :D

wonder how many midfielders have been as versatile in their careers as Chappy?

Akermanis, Gaz jnr, Brent Harvey are just a few off the top of my head who made the easy transition to go forward and kick goals at will. No surprise Geelong have lifted their game, this bloke gets the credit he deserves and rightfully so.

Hoping Duncan/Christensen can continue their rise in form and we have Chapman play in the forward pocket.
Should have no probs kicking 2 or 3 goals every match.

Knew he'd been good but those stats are amazing for a 30+ year old who many thought was on his last legs.

He doesn't seem to be moving with restrictions like the previous season and his kicking a few goals now which is an added bonus.
An important player to our chances this year and always steps up in big games.
I thought he looked too slow earlier in the season but his football nous more than makes up for his lack of pace.

Love Chappy, always have and always will. He is losing pace, penetration etc but he knows what to do when he has the football, and he knows what need to be done when he doesn't have it. Looks to me like he is starting to look a bit better than last year, when he struggled with injuries all year and looked a bit nervous about reaggravating things. Looking more sure of his body. Greta footy brain.

Heart of a Lion. This is why i wear No. 35 on my back.

Gun, period.

I remember reading somewhere that when he first got to the club, he played a few senior games in the pre-season and got complacent, and then was dropped, and Bomber decided to make him really earn his spot in the side. He had about 5 or 6 weeks in a row where he'd rack up 40 odd touches and kick 4 goals in the Magoos, and still Bomber wouldn't play him in the seniors. After about 2 months in the VFL displaying similar form, he finally got promoted, and I think he hasn't been dropped since, 12 or so years later.

Chappy himself said he had his best pre-season in years. Hopefully this will enable him to maintain the current form line through the back half of the season. Forward or mid he will continue to be a big contributor to our wins this season...go the Chapstick!

Just a champion...and admired right across the competition. And still doing the job well.

Some of his knockers have (thankfully ) pulled their head in of late.

My problem as a footy fan is that I keep forgetting that there is a 2-week attention span. It's so easy to surrender to emotion on a week-by-week basis. However, I've never had this problem with Chappy. Even at the beginning of the season when he look too old, too slow, I was remembering the end of that sentence. The heart of our magnificent club.
