I will go as far as to say even Ty plays better in the FL when Chaplin is around. His influence is that great that legend has it that McCrae uses vision oh Chaplin marshalling the troops in the 1s as a motivation for the 2s and it has been stated that McBean thanked him for winning the vfl goal kicking last year.Thought he was pretty handy on Saturday. Have to wonder if we would have set up and controlled the ball better in the final minutes against Collingwood if he was there. Bit of an indictment on our backline group if so.
Basically said what Dimma said and quite possibly off the same PR sheet.![]()

Yes...Chappy stuck to the script as directed
After the loss to Adelaide...Dimma made comments about steps backwards and forwards Sending Shi era through tigers supporters
The next day Dimma was given a script to follow...he said...oh yeah we are still in it to win it and reckon we'll make the 8...
They dragged out Chappy with script in hand to tow the company line
It was Chappy most likely because no one else wanted to do it![]()

Who?For us to be a strong team Chaplin needs to be forgotten
Apt description about NahasHas been working on his strength in one on one contests and believes he is now ready to take on the big boys like Nahas .
Maybe, but I also find it interesting that Astbury had a solid Round 1, very good Round 2 and then was terrible in Round 3 when Chaplin returned to the team.Rance is a better player when Chaplin plays.
Rance really has no idea what the **** he's doing really I reckon and Chappy organizes that defence.
Rance can just concentrate on doing what he does best, he looked A bit lost trying to organize blokes when Chappy was out.
I hear what you're saying but Astbury seems a chief offender particularly when the opposition press and he panics. It really makes him look slow.Maybe, but I also find it interesting that Astbury had a solid Round 1, very good Round 2 and then was terrible in Round 3 when Chaplin returned to the team.
Hopefully it is just a coincidence as I want to see Astbury play out the whole year to try and take over from Chaplin, if we drop Astbury and keep Chaplin in defence then we are not improving.
Imo half of the poor disposals from Astbury was his team mates throwing him under the bus.I hear what you're saying but Astbury seems a chief offender particularly when the opposition press and he panics. It really makes him look slow.
He's missed a bit of footy so maybe he's finding his feet again but yeah happy to stick with him for now but not sure so far.
If we try not to **** around with the footy he might find some confidence because that style certainly doesn't agree with him.
i think he certainly contests and defends better than Chappy who's more of a link type player than Astbury.
There was a fair bit of that going on Saturday.Imo half of the poor disposals from Astbury was his team mates throwing him under the bus.
Unfair to Chaplin... looks like Nahas is running on 3 legs.
Oops. And because he wont be playing this year - 5-10 games tops dependent on Astburys durability
Oops.
