And how would that help you get a contracted Wood?
I don't see how the "pick 19 - take it or leave it" is a big threat. We will leave it, and trade him if we are planning to, and get a better offer. If not, we will keep him. Easy.

meesen is nothing like the knob. knob couldn't move and was a tap ruckman only - meesen moves well for his size and has a good engine - stupid comparison
if we pick him up (god forbid) you'll just see how much of a waste of time the guy is

If we're trying to trade for someone, try targetting a bloke that can actually get a game. Would play Patto before him, so therefore whats the point?
Charman was an ideal target to go for... ready to go, different style and probably wouldnt deter Patto's development.
Just because he's gone, doesnt mean we have to move onto another possible option like Minson. If we're going to try and recruit a young draft ruckman... either do it in the draft or go for someone like Wood. Would have a go at a ruckman that cant break into a side because of too many better options, than a player that can break into a side that has only Peter Street and Wayde Skipper in front of him!
Minson is no better than recruiting Kingsley last year. Speculative pick, not sure where he fits in order of rank, only recruited as possibly a back up and probably wont work.

so what are the flaws with Minson dude? To have the Streets and Skippers of this world selected in front of you, isnt really a negative, if those who do the selecting have NFI. I mean they even brought in a has been hack who was going to hang up the boots to boost the big man dept and the 3 amigos who got the nod were still shitful. The one thing that Minson wasnt? he wasnt part of that all conquering ruck combo.
