Chilli Peppers- Stadium Arcadium

Im so pleased I didnt fork out 1 single cent...not that I did..
Its reggae rubbish apart from Dani California...

Wasn`t that "Stadium Arcadium"

In any case , the last Chilli`s album i bought was Californication and that was only out of loyalty

If anyone wants to buy it off me they can

You cannot be serious????
I heard they were going back down the path of their earlier stuff??
 Damn, i was really looking forward to getting it when its released. I'll still get it though.
Damn you peppers.. get back on them drugs and do what you do best.
Which disk is better? The 'Venus' or 'Mars' disk?

Yeah I pretty much agree with Tangodown.

Very disappointing. I have found generally with the RHCP that on all of their albums, there is always minimum 2 or 3 songs where you wonder how they possibly made the cut, they're just fillers which don't stack up to the better stuff from the album. Unfortunately, of the 28 songs over the 2 CDs on Stadium Arcadium, I could say that well over half, possibly 20, fit in to this category.

I find Dani California and Stadium Arcadium (the song) to be the 2 best songs over the 2 CDs.

Overall, particularly disappointing.

I'd like to quote Nick Cave.

I'm forever near a stereo saying 'what the :D:D:D:D is this GARBAGE?' and the answer is always the Red Hot Chili Peppers."

the album is particularly annoying. My mate was playing it in his car and i was bored to tears. Bad boys, very bad

So far can't get the album out of my Cd player. Easily beats By the Way, Some awesome songs on their with their hard funk roots, the guitar playing is top class and reaching some new depths.

There are a couple of average songs, but the more and more you listen the better it gets.

They have grown as musicians for sure. Wouldn't say it's better than Blood Sugar at this stage but sounds fantastic.

Nothing could ever beat Blood Sugar.

Not many old chili fans will like it as i think the band has gone to mainstream, and do not show any funk rock anymore.

I think they could have chopped it down to 16 songs on one disk and it would have been way better.

Im reading Anthony's autobiography 'Scar Tissue' at the moment, its a very interesting read.

I give it a 6.5/7 out of 10.

Bought this album this evening. So far have only listened to a few tracks. Sounds pretty good but obviously can't judge it just yet.

Not sure if I'm in the minority, but I am liking them more with each album they bring out. Was not much of a fan of their earlier stuff, outside of the bigger singles.

Totally hear you! Chili's are my favourite band, and this album totally sucks! They hve gone back to there early crap, which was "crap" funnily enough. I started listening to them Since One Hot Minute, now they have gone down hill.

Blood Suger will always be there best album.
LIGHT YEAR>
IMO followed by Californication and By The Way
Stadium Arcadium after this.
LIGHT YEAR
One Hot Minute next
Mothers Milk after that
LIGHT YEAR
Freaky Styley after that.
Red Hot Chili Peppers a fair was below that.

I can see why oldschool shili fans cant stand it, but i can see why new chili fans (fans of californication and by the way fans) will like it.

your a tough crowd, i bought it and have thought its quite good... snow(hey oh), hump de bump, readymade, stadium arcadium are all quality songs and a fair few of the others go real good aswell, just my opinion i suppose

there is a wide view held by critics and rock fans in general that Dani California sounds alot like Tom Petty and The Heartbreaker's "Mary Jane's Last Dance.

The intro sounds a lot like Blur's Country House.

I can't believe you forgot Uplift Mofo Party Plan, IMHO up there with Blood Sugar. I'd also put Mothers Milk up there above the rest. Then again, I am an old bastard :D

Holy crap.

shove Uplift Mofo with BTW and Califrnication (i hate that song, good album though)

Mothers Milk has its moments, but i don't think the band was as settled then, and Tony's addiction was wavering.

I hear this happen to everyband that manages to last over five albums, "they arent the ame anymore" "i only liked their early stuff". It is pure tripe and those people should be ashamed. I know its human nature but at some stage we have to get over the fact that other people can also like the music we do. Peppers are still making wicked music and stadium arcadium is one of the most beautiful, soulful and reformed energetic cd ive heard and ive if we lifted the cloud of ignorance thats fogs our view sometimes we'd grow some balls and admit to still liking the music.
In saying that i dont really care, you doubters are missing out on some seriously good peppers tracks.

Respect your opinion, but I agree with the majority that it is a very average album. Has a few good tracks but definately nothing to support them bringing out a Double Album.....
