With a fully fit squad?

While he is serviceable I don't think he'd sneak into the side.

Disposal can be woeful at times.

probably not quite.

Could be though one day.

I'd make a bit of a rash prediction and say if he reach his FULL potential he'd be in our top 9 or 10 players in a couple of years time (maybe even better).

but i'm very skeptical on him reaching his full potential.

You do rate him highly. At his age (23?) I can't see any dramatic improvement that's gonna happen, as he would be lower ranked than many of our youngsters at the moment which will rob him of chances.

he is talented, but not everyone reaches their full talent.

to be honest, i don't think he ever will. but as i said, if he did he would probably be about the 8th or 10th best player at any club.

I say yes, he is, right now!

Its not his disposal that needs work, I don't think. His problem is he's a bit quick on the trigger, leading to him making poor decisions. When he chooses the right option and goes for it, he hits the target every time. Like when he hit McDougall in the goalsquare today - the one he marked over the back of Michael. There was only one man who could've marked that ball and it was a good mark, yes. But not enough credit was given the pass on that one...

He is 23, but you've got to remember he's only played 40-odd games due the OP problems he's had. He'll settle down with more game time & start choosing the right option more often. With that in mind, I say he's good enough to hold his place.

Who would go out of the team to make way for Butler, Cousins and Nicoski?

On today's preformance? Don't know. Cousins is always going to play in any game he is fit for but other than that, maybe no one! Everybody had a good hard crack today and it would be hard to go to any one player & say "you're dropped for next week." At the moment, all the midfield guys are playing pretty well and its only really injury that's seeing them sidelined. Butler & Nicoski might not come back in when they're fit again. Not in the first week, anyway. As far as who goes to make way for Cousins? Eenee meenee minee ...

Adkins is close but no cigar. He is a midfielder, he cant really play back at all and he is an ok forward but with Cousins, Judd, Kerr, Fletcher, Braun and Embley the first 6 off the rack there leaves little room.

Then of course there is Rowan Jones who is a midfielder/forward, Butler and Waters who have both shown plenty, Wooden has been good and I rate him better than Adkins, Morrison has been in dynamite form. Banfield, Wirra and Nicoski are all backman who could run through the middle who I would pick in the side before Adkins.

So at 23 he already has a host of players who are younger than him in front of him. So he better start fulfilling his potential or he will find it pretty tough to find a game at WC over the next couple of years.

Collingwood had big rapts on Chipper but he struggled to put it together after suffering that OP set back.

He hasn't won a regular spot within the team, but given time I think he could become a very handy midfielder in his own right.

Unfortunately I think Butler and Nicoksi will be doing the hard yards to earn their spots back now. What a wonderful problem to have, too much depth. ;)

I think Butler would come straight back but Nicoski may have to go through the WAFL since he's been out for so long, and we're not exactly struggling for players who are performing atm.
