What did you guys think of his game? I actually think he was preety good in the last quarter. Good on Chipper, its good to see him play well.

He provided a target up forward and definitely had a crack in that last quarter.

If we were looking at this round only you would definitely have to say that we have done better out of the Williams/Adkins trade.

I was talking about this aswell yesterday, and he also provided alot of run through the midfield in the 3rd quarter..

carlyp I thought his game was ok , however Chipper needs to learn to set up play with handball. He always trys to either break away or run through packs himself, where as he could pass off the ball by hand and then stream down the ground to assist in the next move. He is at this stage of his development a bit one dimensional. When he masters this he will an ever greater asset to our team.

Chipper was okay- got better as the game wore on, and was well involved in the last few minutes, which is always important.

His kicking is a bit suspect- he naturally hooks the ball which means that put him 50 from goal deep on the flanks and he'll kick it comfortably, but straight in front he's in trouble.

With the players we have available this week, He'd probably one of about 4 or 5 who could possibly be cut- imo, we should definitely stick with him next week- his pace is a great asset on the wide subi expanses, plus it never hurts to have another shaven headed Judd decoy runner to confuse the shyte out of the commentators and opposition.

Yep he was alright. Would have cermented his place if had kicked that 2nd goal in the last quarter but he didn't. A fringe midfielder/forward like him will have to be cut for Daniel Kerr.

I think he did enough to keep his spot as i myself would just do a direct swap banfield for kerr. Banners may not be a midfielder but we have players like Hunter(if he returns) Morrosin and even Braun or Chick who could play his role down back and i think the worst thing for chipper would be to show something and get dropped, like happened once or twice last year. Kerr will definately come in but i would be upset if it was for chipper.

i rate chippers field kicking extremely highly. he has that ability to do 50m stabs at head height. which are exactly what doogs thrives on.

I don't really agree his kicking's all that good (at least not based upon yesterday's display). I think he could take a leaf out of Rowan Jones's book; if you're not kicking it well, make sure you handball it to a teammate who is.

Still he certainly doesn't deserve to be dropped; if we're selecting people purely on form, then Green and Chick would be on the edge first.

I didnt think he played that well, got the ball at some stages but was wasteful with it. Usually his strength is a decent delivery via foot but that went missing yesterday and didnt leave him with much. As someone else noted he is very one-dimensional and doesnt appear to think laterally. Without being at the game, and just based on previous observations, it did appear as though once again he was playing very unaccountable footy. If thats the case then id rather have Callum Chambers in the squad who at least gets more of the footy himself.

I agree. Chipper did enough to stay in the team next week. Banners for Kerr. (Although Kerr should maybe go to the WAFL for a week for his stupidity :( )

I agree, although I'd be more inclined to drop Green and retain Chick against Port. Green hasn't done anything of recent to warrant a place in the side, and there are a few people such as Waters and Nicoski who are knocking on the door for a spot. Although Chick was unseen for most of yesterday's game, I felt his experience and hardness at the ball came to the fore in that last quarter, where he kicked a crucial goal and did a few other good things. His toughness and accountability will be much needed against Port.

only seen the first half of yesterday's game still, but was very impressed with Adkins from what i saw.

I still believe he can come on and become a very good round the ground player for us.

I felt that he did very well to find the footy, and used his speed to find open space when in possession. He was a little wasteful with some of his disposals, but some of his other disposals were spot on.

He should keep his spot, he played well.

I think you're all nuts. He's an absolute drive-killing hack, who we got screwed over for in the trade for Williams. He was in the action more than these likes of the Greens, and the Chicks, but those mentioned never broke the chain as often as Adkins did on Sunday. Placed in pressure situations where hot passing and quick thinking is required, he breaks our chain constantly, and gets us in so much ***** it's not funny. Anybody notice that play out on the wing in the last half on Sunday where we were moving it nicely and quickly towards our zone when he promptly snapped a left footer straight to the opponent? That's just one example. The only reason I liked him last year was cause he had cool, long flowing rusty hair. Now that he's a skinhead, there's no reason to like 'Rusty' anymore. In the bottom 3 of players who get a regular/semi regular gig on our squad IMO. Take Chambers over him as our fringe midfielder any day.

A little bit harsh. Care to mention the crunch goal he kicked in the last quarter from close to the boundary???

I think Chipper is a regular in our side and i would be quite p***** off if he was dropped this week. He played well although i dont rate his kicking. I think Green is an absolute hack! He is a disgrace, shocking descision making and isnt accountable enough! P*** him off straight away, bring back Hunta!
