Cant wait :thumbsu:

Hope he does make it. We need to focus as many picks on midfielders as possible.
If Mcbean and Elton make it, it will go a long way.

All we would need is a young ruck

Not sure whether he plays forward or back though, that might be a sticking point.
Hopefully both.

It would be very handy to be able to swing him at both ends depending injuries or tactics

Thats what kills careers. If he cant consistantly perform in one position at VFL he will not do it at AFL. There are very very few AFL swingmen who are genuinely good at both ends. He should be settled at one end.

Long term Chaplin replacement?

Have liked him at CHB when watching the VFL, not overly impressed with him up forward, but that could be because in the VFL he is battling with A.Edwards Griffiths McBean Stephenson/Hampson for opportunity. Down back he looks very comfortable, gets his hands on the ball and is accountable for his opponent.

might be a good replacement should another key backman go down... contrary to our form this year we are actually building some good depth.

I severly doubt he'd be battling with Hampson for an opportunity , I've seen Elton play and he can take a mark , kick, lay the odd tackle and knows which way we are going each quarter.

Show the kid some respect please

How is he in contested marking and what's his motor like?

Very very good contested mark. Its probably his strength. Not sure about his motor some guys who see a bit more of the VFL might be able to elaborate.

kinda reminds me of carlisle type from the bombers interested to see how he will slot into the side, definitely has potential so fingers crossed he makes it.

That is what he should be aiming for IMO

VFL reports this year say more often than not he is beating his opponent, just not gathering possessions but that will come IMO. Defenders should defend first attack second anyway.

Would be good to have a KPP in the backline who can play anywhere.

Looks like our Lonergan. Can stop his opponent effectively but not much chop on the rebound

I think if he cant make it as a forward ... or Ruck than he is limited in what he can do.

Has an awkward running style and doesnt impose himself on the game enough. Has a high centre off gravity and isnt very good below the knees.

Why cant one of our young KPF take the spot that is there for taking???? they all just seem like they are going threw the motions... Make them earn it.

Remember that piece of play in the NAB cup a couple of years ago when he swooped on a loose ball and snapped a goal (maybe the winning one?) against the Pies. He was a lot lighter then but certainly looked agile enough. I wonder if he can get that back in time once he is used to carrying a bit more bulk?

CHF is his bag imo. Needs to work on his tank. Looks better when the ball is coming to him.

I have seen him play VFL a number of times. I'd say:
Pros: Lead up marking, contested marking, competitiveness
Cons: Kicking, getting to enough contests, poor below his knees

He is pretty similar to type to Griffiths without the booming kick. A couple of years younger obviously.

We need to see what he's got and more importantly he needs game time so he goes into the pre season knowing exactly what it's like to play at the highest level consistently . I'd have him in the team for at least 3 consecutive games. Can we wire him up Hansie Cronjie style to Choco during them ?
