Best Aussie movie ever made imo. 7.2/10 on IMDb just goes to show those ratings and the people who '' rate '' it are full of shit. Love the jail scenes and some of the chilling creepy music they play when he's out of jail in the public and at the end.

7.2 is a decent score for imdb.com Anything 7 or above is. No film is over 9.2.

Great film, saw it at a little cinema in London when it came out, there was only me and a few other Aussies in there watching it.

Eric Bana was great as Chopper, despite going on to star in a number of big box office hits in Hollywood I still think Chopper is his best role.

****en quality. Not word for word but it's pretty close. I love the part before it how Chopper's devising his plan about the skullery. After he explains it Jimmy says '' riiight '' looking at him like he's a complete nutcase, which in Choppers case, he is:kony:

Andrew Dominik followed up Chopper with The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (a total masterpiece). Then came Killing them Softly (excellent) and One More Time With Feeling (a documentary about Nick Cave which I haven't seen but which received rave reviews.) An impressive resume indeed!
 
Look, all I can tell you is what I've already told Mister Beasley: none of us saw anything. It was just one of those things: Bluey Barnes was reading a magazine; Ambrose Hatcheson was taking a piss; Johnny Price was washing his hands; Jimmy Loughnan was watching a bullant crawl across the table, and I was watching Jimmy watching the bullant.

This was the best movie to come out of Australia in God knows how long.

Bana was unbelievable.

Of course the downside of it we’ve spent the time since allowing Heath Franklin to stay semi famous not by doing an impression of Chopper Read but by doing an impression of Eric Bana doing an impression of Chopper Read
