Did he stand up or what? He didn't get a massive amount of it as usual, but wowee did he take some great contested marks and slotted them when we critically needed them. It's almost as if he is a BF reader coz he copped an unwarranted pasting from some folks on this board, and he was there when we needed him taking some absolutely critical marks and goals. Granted he had a couple sloppy disposals, but he had far less than most and he made them pay every chance he could.

Once he got rid of his nerves, he was quite good. Always presented a contest and brought two or three Hawks with him.

I think he was a massive part of allowing Trav to get some space and a run up. Just loved his efforts all night, even with a couple of the blunders he made.

Showed real ticker there by not putting his head down after the Early Fluffs

Some flog was asking for him to be dropped last week, unbelievable!!

:D

LOL

Nice post mate, well done :thumbsu:

He did play a lot better game for sure, after the shank and fumble he was very good.

I got to the ground about three hours before the game...Dawes had a million kicks pregame from the very spot he took that first kick... you guessed it barely missed one when practicing.

He was very good with his marking and presenting up forward, but he was slower than usual in trapping and releasing the ball around the ground. Probably just a hand-thing. Hopefully that will be better next week, because you don't get a lot of time with the pressure applied in finals.

Under the circumstances, and the pressure of the match, that is the standout game of Chris Dawes' career so far.

You can't say enough about him tonight, he was great when the ball was in the air, or on the ground, and yes, it's official, the Twin Towers are back, and we will go in to the GF knowing we have 2 massive targets up forward.

Yeah he'll be much better for the touch, his early below his knees work was sloppy but got better.
