Roast Chris Johnson

Johnson had 9 disposals and 6 marks in what? A quarter and a half of footy? He knows how to get the ball and if kicking is as good as it is supposed to be, then he could be a handy option coming off half back.

For player whose recruiting was based on the fact that his kicking was pinpoint he sure hit those three Doggies players on the chest in the first quarter.

Needs a looooong spell in the Ants before he is ever considered again for senior selection if ever.

Consider yourself lucky CJ, TheSheik originally favoured the death sentence but downgraded it to banishment for life

its stupidity he must be dropped if he wants to play for carlton he should lift his game was that kiciking prctice useless to him i guess so drop him and he might play aganist fremantle thats if he improves his kicking

He is a shocking player, Melbourne can have him back.
His kicking against the doggies was appauling.

Sigh ...

Beats me why we gave CJ a three year contract, another woeful game last night by Johnson, admittedly he wasn't the only one who was terrible, but geez, how many times has his 'woeful' kicking cost us this year ? I imagine he'll be among the first dropped next week, if not I'll be pretty ropeable.

I think this club should be banned from the Pre-Season Draft, apart from Eddie Betts and Nick Stevens, this club's track record in the December draft has been deplorable in recent years...

And to think, Melbourne managed to nab Liam Jurran on the spot vacated on their list by Chris Johnson ...

He's lack of 'composure' under pressure as a defender really is telling ...

Two year deal IIRC.

Johnson will miss due to injury.

The happy posters will only find someone else to bash after a loss.

What do you mean by another woeful game?

Johnson wasn't poor in the last three games.

I believe Johnson went off against Sydney with an injury, but came back on and obviously played last night.

A PSD pick is pick eighty or later in the national draft.

It's a lucky dip.

Skipworth was fantastic and a matchwinner for Bendigo today.

Scotland is more of a worry than Johnson...

Tip to Carlton recruitment team...If Chris Johnson is not a "required player" at Melbourne, don't bother with him.

If a player has a crap game and is injured during it, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps the hamstring was tightening during the game and restricting him. He's had more good games than bad so far.

His 2 worst games has resulted in him leaving the arena injured.
Is it the injury that causes his poor game or vice versa? I think we have better talent than this bloke, if not better now better in the future.

exactly recruiting this guy has already proven to be fatal as he has cost us games, his game against the pies was absolute crap can the guy learn to spoil or lay a tackle FFS.

What type of player should an AFL club pick to fill the last spot on their list?

Another skinny small forward with pace, a retread in Dawson, a recovering drug addict, a "den Mother", a mid with poor skills or a one paced forward pocket?

Collingwood recruited Bryan from a wooden spoon side for the ruck. I don't see the problem with Carlton recruiting a player to fill a need in the PSD. Johnson is playing because Walker has missed the past two years and we have a few injuries.

Nice re-write of history.

I seem to recall Bailey being pissed off that Johnson was leaving.

He choose not to re-sign rather than the club de-listing him because he was no good.
HALF-back/midfielder Chris Johnson has been delisted by Melbourne after the Demons and his management could not agree to a new contract.

The Blues made a play for the son of former Demons star Alan in the trade period, offering a late pick above 100 in a bargain-basement bid.
But Melbourne held firm, hoping to talk Johnson around.
In talks with coach Dean Bailey after the trade period, Johnson could not tell the Demons he wanted to play for them and he was delisted.
Melbourne is bitterly disappointed Johnson could not commit after investing four years into his development.

Bailey, intent on letting the Melbourne members know it did everything it could to convince Johnson to remain, was quoted on the club's website late on Friday.
"There are no personal problems between myself and Chris, but we want players on our list who want to play for our jumper, and on this occasion Chris did not fit the bill," Bailey said.
