He was superb yesterday and now the talk about town is Juddy again, being back to his best.

1. Is he back to his best?
Yes :thumbsu:

2. Have you seen Juddy play a better game for the Blues?
No

3. Is he a chance for the Brownlow?
Most definately. I know Ablett is the favourite but the umpires don't love him as much as they love Juddy.

Ablett sooks too much IMO, which is why he doesn't poll well.

Back to his best? I'd say it's highly likely

Best game for the Blues? That's a 100% definite

Can he win the Brownlow? He's a chance, but my money is still on Ablett at this stage

Q: Is he back to his best?

A: Too hard to say. He is in incredible form at the moment but it is tough to say whether or not he is back to his best. The Chris Judd we saw, at his best for West Coast, played a different role to the Chris Judd we are seeing at the moment. Which role is better? Who knows? I'm going to say yes, he is back to his best. But his best is different.

Q: Have you seen Juddy play a better game for the Blues?

A: No. That was Juddy's best game in Navy Blue, without a doubt. Leave him to run free at your own peril.

Q: Is he a chance for the Brownlow?

A: Of course. I actually think he'll win it, although it is still early in the season. Judd is absolutely loved by the umpires, not without good reason. 3 votes on the weekend without a doubt, adding to his tally which would be close to double figures already.

  • He knows his groins have pretty much healed. The long, running goals.
  • The mark. Shoulders? Tick.
  • Was it just on 3/4 time when he got so sick and tired of watching our clowns running round in circles in the backline that he tore down, grabbed the ball and hoisted it forward? He was responding to the way the whole crowd was feeling. Kick the ****ing thing towards the goal!
  • Looks happier and more at home now he has fully recovered. He always said it was daunting coming to the club after all that song and dance and then not being able to justify it all by performing at his best.
  • Fev thinks he loves him but Fev loves CJ heaps more than CJ loves Fev.
  • Deliberately pulls fringe players into the game. Seen it with Carlos and I reckon that handball over the top to Yazza was the same deal.
  • We may well have 6 + years more of this sort of performance.
  • That little goose-step he does as he kicks - unique.
  • When he's been dragged down by 3 or 4 players as they try futilely to stop him, it reminds me of a wildebeest surounded by wild dogs.
  • JK is developing well and we would love him now but we can't have our cake etc...
  • For mine the most exciting player at Carlton since Kouta circa 2000

Yep, looked like it could have been very ugly.

Would have tested the groin, knee, ankle. Thankfully he's fine because on his way down I nearly shat myself.

His stats so far this year are sensational.
- 7th in Disposals (228 leader has 235)
- 1st in Contested possessions (98, 2nd best is 85)
- 2nd inside 50's (50, 1st has 56)
-19th in tackles (41, 1st has 68)
-6th in Goal Assists (11, 1st has 13)
- 1st/2nd in Clearances (stats unavailable at the moment, however was either 1st or 2nd last week)

Juddy does everything, has been in our best 3 players every game this year except for bulldogs game (IMO)

If he can continue in this vain for the rest of the season, would be a big chance for the Brownlow, as mentioned above the umpires seem to love him and if they are in doubt on who to give the 3 votes too, Juddy normally gets the nod.

Not even Gabblett moves out of an early tackle like him,CHAS come hither:thumbsu:

As soon as I saw him burst out of that stoppage and fire that handball out to Yarran for a goal I yelled, "Juddy you genius!!"

His strength, work ethic, ability to lift not only himself (often through sheer willpower) but also lift his teammates, vision, trouser tent-raising etc etc is second to none.

Geez it felt good to see him look so happy and chatty after the game too.

Spot on like many spots on something with quite a few spots on it already. :thumbsu:

I keep hearing myself screaming "Chris Judd, you are a deadset superstar!"

how goos was it to se six pies players trying to tackle him when he got the handball over to yarran just unbelievable . and about 10 other thing he did in that game as well, i think the best think is he will only get better although i think the tactic of not tagging him as much will stop.

Good points. I agree. IMO I think Juddy is about 80-85% of his best. It's all slowly coming back - with another full pre season he should be there.

Don't discount Yarran's sublime smarts there, burnt Cox for pace (and brains). Was full throttle from when he started moving, to when he got the ball, to when he slotted it - Like a thief in the night!

Watch it here :) http://www.gameanalyser.afl.com.au/

It was great seeing him give a thumbs up to the MCC as he came off for the last time at the end of the game!

Couldn't agree with this more. Thought the same thing myself. Was glad he got the game going.

We all remember the things he did through the 2nd, 3rd, 4th quarter etc. But I went back and watched the first 15 mins of the game again. He was sensational! :D

Agree, he has 100% confidence in every player on the ground.

Another example was the kick over the top to Austin running with the flight of the ball.

With all the BigFooty and media types clamouring on the Gary Ablett Jny bandwagon, it's easy to forget that even if he's only the second best player in the league - good GOD Judd is a fantastic player. He's quick, strong, skilled, brave and above all else a winner.

Who knew Juddy could even get off the ground, let alone take pack marks? He just looks a class above everyone else on the field basically every game. He'll have down days, and he'll get tagged, or his opponent will have a big day out.... but overall, there are very very few players in the AFL better than this guy. What a gun.

The bloke is a dead-set superstar. To watch him in pretty much full-flight, to me there's no better player going around. Taking people on and beating them easily, somehow doing miraculous things we didn't think possible, it's just good to see.

But I think the best thing is that.... HE CAN JUMP AGAIN!:D That pack mark in the 3rd proved that 1. He's back to his best, and 2. He has complete confidence in his body. If he keeps playing like this, even with Ablett the way he is, I have no doubt Juddy will win the Brownlow.

Not that this is surprising in the slightest....

Judd to match Gazza for Brownlow? You bet

CARLTON skipper Chris Judd could overtake Geelong superstar Gary Ablett as Brownlow Medal favourite with another big performance this weekend.

TAB Sportsbet's Gary Davies said two weeks on the sidelines had seen Ablett drift in betting while punters, after watching Judd rack up 32 disposals to lead his team to victory over the Magpies at the weekend, had backed the former winner of the medal.
