He isn't the list manager but has a say.. you have about as much clue as your flog coach on game day

so if buckley such a bad coach, we should have won our meetings this year? if the teams are that close and our coaches terrible and yours greater you saying our actual list is better?

Moore probably will too..
Unlikely but possible. 3rd year KPF who will be the main target of every backline now. Good progress for him would be 30+ goals.

He kicked 18 goals from 22 games this year.
To give him a 4 year contract is an undoubted high risk.
His main job is forward pressure, not necessarily kicking goals, but the goals are a bonus.

A few clubs seems to be getting better compo than they would trading. Compensation seems to be a little out of whack in some cases.

Seems to be because players are getting paid more/getting longer contracts than they would in the free market though.

You wouldn't pay what Hawks and Collingwood respectively have paid for Vickery and Mayne outside of FA.

Gee whiz the Pies have spent big on unreliable players.

Wells 3yrs at 500k+ with a troublesome injury history.

Now Mayne gets 4yrs for 2 million....... This guy has not played his best football for over 2 years now and that is a lot of money to spend on a guy to be a decoy and professional tackler.

I must say well done Freo on that compo. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Been a bit too inconsistent for my liking so the 4 year deal is surprising. Freo would be laughing with pick 23 as compensation.

That's coz AFL doesn't base compensation on talent level or recent production, it's purely on length and value of the new contract.

I don't agree with it

The fact that they keep the "formula" secret is also a bit.. classically AFL.

4 years seems a long time for him. I can see him being in the side in 2017 but with his recent history you wouldn't consider him locked in for even 2 seasons let alone 4.
