Problem with Wells is, he is injured and getting past it, so in essence it is the same thing as Mayne.

Spot on! When Buckley stand downs or is sacked which will be soon he may have really stuffed up our future list by actually preventing us from signing potential gun/s. Wells and Mayne are both duds...no question about it. Signing these two was a big mistake.

But it's on free agency.
So who else could have we got at that time?
Draft picks would have been alternative.
So who are the potential guns we missed out on?

ps Wells is a gun, if he plays, worth the risk as we got him for nothing on free agency.

Wells I can completely understand. He is another high-end midfielder who cost us nothing in draft capital and goes some of the way to filling the void left by Swanny's injury and retirement.

He also is a superb ball user going inside 50, and as we have seen, inside 50 retention rate is very important; if it drops too low it kills your defence on the fast break.

Mayne, I understand that the powers that be wanted someone to be an on-field leader and marshall the troops, and to be fair we do need improved on-field leadership. The reported money and the length of contract I find bewildering, however, for a player of Mayne's diminishing skills.

If we wanted on field leadership we should have got Bartel.

Eg plays say 10 games a year be better than half of the rests 22 games.

Sier was pick 32 in a thin draft. Pick 32 is hit and miss, there is no one picked after 32 that is setting the world on fire yet and Sier has been dogged by injury , the youngest and most inexperienced player on our list from 2016, need to give him some more time before any call is made.

I'm not concerned about the ability but the pick of a footballing type we have plenty of. If you read my post I think defoey will attract a high draft pick but if we jad recruited a key instead of him we would not have to bother

I think people need to realize that Buckley doesn't do the recruiting. He would have a very small say in who we get in. Sure they will say we are going after this guy but in the end Hine and the football manager would have the biggest say. Gone are the days when the coach does the recruiting.

On behalf of CFC2010, the story has been told more than once but the thickheads don't want to know.
They prefer to live in their house of fantasy and spew bile.
I was told by a very reliable source who incidentally is not a supporter of the coach therefore have no reason to doubt him.
