Why some of our supporters would want him just goes to show how lucky we are that they have no say in the matter.
Perfectly summed up. Imagine if Benny came out and said we will take him. We would be the laughing stock of the Australian sporting world. What a massive backward development for our club and brand that would be.
And with the Cuz comparisons, can anyone tell me exactly what he bought to the club excluding Foley and a few others walking around with balls in their hands, money and memberships? To say he bought off field leadership and professionalism to our young players on the track and in the gym is an indictment of our senior players and coaching staff. Sure he was great and the young players looked up to him, but please, how much better are we right now as a club because of him?
And on field, he never dominated. Maybe took a tag here and there and played some good footy, but for the first time in his AFL life, the two years with us he had a handball to kick ratio favouring handball. He was never the same attacking driving force he was with the Eagles for various reasons.
So to think Fev will change his entire demeanour and way of life and magically turn into a Richmond gun spearhead is plain stupid and ludicrous.
For the record i was very much in favor of getting Cuz and was stoked when we got him. But at the time we were still in no mans land with a dodgy list and coach and needed a feel good story and a bit of a shinny light. But now it a completely different set of circumstances. We are finally appearing to be entering our first real re-build from top to bottom, and getting someone like fev would be a massive step backwards.
