well you resorted to name calling off the bat, so it's not like you raised the bar particularly high. Kind of standard CF post content. But hey - keep focusing on those "positives", I'm sure your mother thinks you're clever...

No doubt the catalyst for our culture change came about following the Cook review and the changes to roles and personnel that were made. It is well documented that Thompson was critical of the review but , as history will record, he was part of the turnaround and can claim he played his role in our success. What pisses me off about the bloke is that he had meaningful discussions with Essendon in July of last year and from that time onwards he never really focused to the level required on our flag defence. So what was the point of your comments about Rd17 press conference and his buddy relationship with Tim Watson? I just assumed by bringing those points up you wish that he wasn't there for the last 6 or so weeks of the season.
But anyway, back on topic, glad Cook called Scot and asked him why he hadn't applied for the job.

The manner of his departure was further evidence of his deception and inability to be up front and honour the culture that was in place. Whilst he didn't get along with Cook to do that to Frank undid so much of his legacy IMHO.
However , thank God we have Brian !! What a masterstroke the appointment of CS is becoming - seems capable in all areas and just loving the way he comes across in the Meeja , thorough professional. So far so bloody good............

you're attempts to flame me are just getting predictable now. I am bored with you. I am sure you will post another zinger in reply to this. But I have better things to do than waste oxygen on you.![]()
And it makes you think, how much of Brian Cook's influence has shaped the club as a whole? We always talk about how he fixed up the finances and the boardroom, but did his pragmatism and professionalism have a knock-on effect into the football department? His role in bringing Balme to the club would arguably be just as significant as keeping Thompson on as coach IMO, as Balme had been part of a very slick Collingwood football department and had seen how Malthouse operated up close. It was a shame that Thompson held such a grudge against Cook that he never acknowledged him on the dais like he did with Costa and Alex Popescu, on either occasion. And you can see it on Cook's face in the 2007 footage, he was sucking it up, but it obviously did hurt him that he was not getting even a polite nod from Thompson.[/quote]
Yeah - Cook was an absolutley great pick up from the Eagles and clearly without him none of this would have happened. Very remiss of Bomber not to acknowledge him on such an historical day for the Club.
Egos are fine and necessary but when they cloud your judgement and stop you recognising your deficiencies they become counterproductive.
Bomber was uncertain of his future without Frank at the helm and said to Essendon that he couldn't get along with Cook - hence he wanted to get out. Good luck to him now I guess.
Just fantastic to see our boys rejuvenated , kids being played , positive moves coming from the box and buy-in to a new gameplan - our culture is in place and strong enough to withstand adversity. Go Cats !!
Of all Chris's many attributes the one that stands out for me is his player management. The way he's been able to re-invigorate the ancients and at the same time blend in a group of youngsters without the club missing a beat has been outstanding.
