City looks the better team. Win by about 2 tries.

Coverage: I think it is on Channel Nine.?

Not bad teams.

1 from Souths starting.
1 from the eels bench
0 from the Raiders who are a country team that just belted the eels and are sitting nicely on the ladder?

Whats going on?

No wonder the crowd support is down for the Raiders, ARL give the Raiders nothing.

Only decent thing is it's being played in Dubbo, should be a good crowd and money spinner for the city.

The ratings for this will suck in Qld, hehe, maybe the AFL ratings have a chance to crow for a week. :o

I'm a melbourne person. Is it just me or is there a rep game every five minutes in this sport?

Not every five minutes, but at least there are rep games to be played!

I beleive city v country is irrelevent these days in the NRL... But thats one good thing about League there are rep games, you are able to see the best players playing with and against each other...

Rep games Aussies are involved in

ANZAC Test
City v Country
3 State of Origins
Tri Nations - AUS GB NZ
Tour Matches such as PNG, USA, France etc
World

Pretty useless without the test players. The best thing about this trial game is watching two guys competing for the same position completely hammering each other all night long. Spud Carrol v Paul Harrigan

Country!

This game is great for the country towns who get to host it each year. The grounds aren't the biggest or the best but the locals love to go to see the game.

and the Australia 'a" and prime ministers select teams which played internationals last year.

In recent years there was also an ANZAC team against Cumbria which included non-first team players for NZ and OZ who were hangers on for the tri-nations tour in 2004.

The jersey was split down the middle.. half kiwi, half kangaroos.. even for the shorts.

That Cumbria game was a smart move - gave the guys from both squads a chance to have a fun run. It was a nice addition to the tour schedule.

I listened to the call of the match via a Cumbrian radio station's online broadcast.

Bit different to how they call a game here.. was a lot more relaxed.

Apex Oval has a brilliant new grandstand, used to be a bunch of wooden steps lol

Like most other Queenslanders, I rate this 9.5 out of 10 on the "Who cares?" scale. What a complete waste of time.
Why doesn't Qld have one of its own that we can all watch on the tele?
