Yes, sorry. Picks 8 and 10...I keep forgetting that. It's because I'm a toothless, bogan who never went to school.....(nothin' like a bit of self-parody).

Anyway, why wouldn't we go for Keating? We need big blokes. He may not be around for too long, but good for 2007.....agree??

Before I would of said no way but just wondering what we are up to now we have delisted most of our ruckman. We are obviously going to get a ruckman somewhere young or old. Obviously I would prefer young but if Josh goes down next year who else do we have if we only went for a young ruckman? Richards is not up to it in my opinion, so Keating maybe but who knows

Do not want him. He's too old and he's past it. He was a hack even when he was young and winning premierships. Would much prefer to keep Cameron Cloke or draft Nick Smith with a late pick than go for Keating and then snag Kippett or Hampson in the draft to satisfy our long term needs.

:D A hack who almost won the 2002 GF by himself.

You talk about hacks, and then go on and say you would like to keep Cloke.

If we could get him for pratically nicks he would be ok.His problem is that he is getting old and has a few injuries, but we can wrap him in cotton wool and unleash him during the finals. If he can play his best footy during the finals and release josh up forward you never know we could slam our way to an unexpected flag..............GO PIES

If he is available I think it is worth considering. He is not the man to take the number 1 ruck spot, but he could be a very handy 10 minute a quarter player. I think we are all in agreement that Richards' development has stagnated and any draftee we take will require time. Making Fraser continue to work one out will do long term damage. We really need him to be able to drift forward as often as possible, and also to rest.

Keating was a very good tap ruckman, and may have a year or two left in him. That might be all we need from him, so I say go for it.

are you guys being serious? what the??

why the hell would we use one of our National draft picks on a an older ruckman with questionable fitness levels who may be 5 games and thats it??

I hope this is some kind of joke thread... because if we did that i would be ropable.

Tidied up by FJ for taste purposes

The reality is we need a ruck to let Fraser play HF.

So you either back Richards or get someone else.......and there aint a lot up for grabs. That makes Keating a possibility but he would need to be able to ruck the first 20 mins of every qtr.

Personally, would just prefer to see Cam Cloke given a year at rucking.

PRE SEASON DRAFT - Not National Draft, i cannot beleive some people in this forum have suggested wasting a National Draft pick on ye olde man..

it bewilders me

the difference is: we miss out on picking up a youngster from the National Draft..

Why would we do that? There is a reason why older players very rarely get picked in the National Draft... Thats why the PSD exists

At pick 76 I am not sure it matters. Maybe better off getting an older bloke you know you need and then getting a few kids down the PSD with a view to seeing how they train.

no chance of picking him up i hope.
hopefully collingwood is done picking up has beens...

ie chad morrison, scott cummings, these types of players that come to collingwood to end their careers
