"He doesnt get many possessions Dangerfield but there's a memory in everyone of them"

Im pretty sure I heard that pearler during the call last night.
Cometti would've barred up:D

BUT it typifies why a lot of people want Dangerfield as our next captain.
All I can say is he's in for one hell of a fight; vB, Thommo,& Vince are all put their hand up last night.

Anyhow...Classic Bruce - I loved it.

So much easier on the ear than the West Coast fan club that we had to endure last week

Watch the replay and listen with your jaw hanging down to a couple of other Bruceisms. Before the game he made the wonderful observation that it was a big crowd because 'people love coming to watch Geelong play'. At half time he said something like, 'The Crows are six points down. Do you think they're still a chance?'

Wasn't the expression on Tom Harley's face after the game priceless? During the game he kept saying how we were going to fall away after playing at Subiaco last week. Boy did he look angry when they were reviewing the game afterwards.

Credit to Tom Harley he was much better than Matty Lloyd was a couple weeks back. Harley was constantly going on about how good some of our players were. And you can forgive him for thinking we'll drop off. It's not as if our early form lends ourselves to hard running teams that compete with such intensity for 4 quarters.

bruce was in vintage form last night, there was genuine excitement that i don't think i've heard from him since the mid to late 90's, when he was supreme!

I enjoyed listening to Tom Harley last night, I think he has a future in the media. Unlike those wally's from the west.

Tom Harley did a fantastic job last night. Really, only an Adelaide supporter would have regarded his comments as remotely biased.

It's a credit to the guy that he manages to be such an even caller for a Geelong side that he just left. Plenty of commentators can't manage it 20 years after they've retired.

Bruce is the best in the business, the research and knowledge he has is outstanding, i am a huge fan of him and will watch any game his commentates because of the excitement he creates. Dennis is quality too, but can be a tad harsh on players at times.

It was a huge improvement in commentating. When Dennis called Henderson instead of Walker I was wondering if Bruce would correct him. He did in such a charming manner by going back one play and calling "Walker to Sloan to Henderson".

I agree, been a fan of his all year.:thumbsu: Bruce was classic last night though, made the replay even more enjoyable.:D

I especially liked "he looks sharper than usual" in reference to Stevens...really does do his homework :D

Really? I thought Harley was very good - certainly an improvement on Jakovich and Lloyd in previous weeks. He even called a few free kicks for us that weren't paid, or a couple that were paid for the Cats that were "very lucky".

Nope, you couldn't fault Harley in that call.

While we're on this topic........ how about Hird last night in the Essendon/WCE game! Spent the whole bloody game having the worlds biggest sook!

agreed

When Harley First went to Norwood and played reserves, was not Niel Craig the seniors coach?
His calling was a breath of fresh air!
Harley quite astutly and subtly pointed out in Friday nights call that podsiadly is a datsun man (SSS)
Skilled stadium speciliast! He didn't use those words but ...............pointed out all but 1 of his good games was at Skilled Stadium! Which makes him a lion at home and a pod of lambs away!

At the final siren bruce said this "There's Life still in the old Adelaide town"

I thought it was more like "And the heart still beats in the old Adelaide town".

Anyway, not that it matters, it was good. (May or may have not watched the last 5 minutes of the game on Youtube 900 times this weekend)
