Still don't understand why people who want this kind of thing don't just buy a raspberry pi

Pre ordered as well and I suggest anyone who has even a passing interest in it do the same to save yourself some tears later on, you can always cancel if you change your mind.

Good to see that this one comes with two controllers plus the cords are going to be longer, the Mini NES ones were way too short.

Does the raspberry pi look like a nes or snes?

Just pre ordered mine. Will hopefully pick up another at a later date to keep for future collecting.

Would've like DKC2 and 3 to be also included, Chrono Trigger, Turtles in time, Zombies Ate my Neighbours, Mortal Kombat 2 and Earth Worm Jim would of been some nice games as well.

Wish it had a few more games, but still pretty good..

Turtles in Time
James Bond Goldeneye..
Chrono trigger

some games would have polished it off nicely, but i think they don't have license to use all of them or something...

not a perfect list by any means but not too bad either....(a bit thin on games)

hopefully they make it updatable to the virtual console or something on this emulator...

i assume otherwise that it'll just become modded like the NES..

if you pre-order as a delivery then i assume that raises the importance of the order???

delivery date is 4 days after release, if the stores kick up enough stink in the meantime you might be out of luck

they should start selling the hard carry cases as well that are cool and wireless controllers etc....

Get a portable dvd player type screen in the lid part and a battery somewhere and you're in business

Because the money from buying these will hopefully go to Nintendo making more games for the switch ...

so it's kind of a trade-off in a way..

It appears that they've added enhancement chips to their emulator. Here's a list of chips that would be required for the games they've listed:

  • DSP-1
  • SA1
  • SuperFX GSU-1
  • SuperFX GSU-2
There are some enhancement chips missing, but they appear to have licensed the SuperFX chips. This leads me to believe that like the NES Classic, they've written a new emulator for this device and presumably the Switch. If that's the case, I'd be interested to see if they actually do include support for the missing chips as a way of future-proofing"

Same reason people pay for netflix when you can just download

Pre-ordered :thumbsu:

I had the link open for the JB-HI-FI pre order for the Mini NES Classic for weeks last time, just putting off buying it, never got around to it, and well, the rest is history. I couldn't pre-order this one quick enough.

So glad we got the Japanese Super Famicom version. (Sorry North America!)

Because for some it's just easier to buy something that'll work out of the box, than spend the time building something........... even if it would be a hell of a lot more versatile.

Sure, if you buy the right case.
