These guys won't make it, trade or delist at the end of the year:
- Hislop
- Thurstfield
- Nahas
- Edwards
- Farmer
- Conners
- McGuane
- Gourdis
- Miller

Nahas had some nice junk time stats but unless he can build a Harvey/Foley nuggety build, he is simply too small

Disagree on Nahas...at worst he is depth but I think he is a long term FP option.

Would delist the following:

Thursfield
Farmer
Browne
Gourdis
Hislop
Miller
Nason
Taylor
Tuck (because they won't play him)
Hicks
Westoff

Nahas should be given another year, he is playing some good footy this year and if half the side, nah a quater of the side had as much of a go as he did today we wouldn't have copped a hundread point flogging.

The rest all have there papers stamped but its just a matter whuch year they go and in which order.

Bit of luck we can get something for thursty & mcfumbles (send em both to GWS for an upgraded second rounder) but the rest I doubt even Brisbane or the saints would show any interest.

Nahas?? **** me!! What more can he do?
He's miles ahead of some other blokes.Thursfield was as uncompetitive as anyone at AFL level ever today.
Farmer is not much,Hislop etc. I can't go on.

He was SHOCKING today, outmarked SO many times. May as well have played 1 player short with him out there today.
Not entirely sure what he did to deserve selection over Gourdis

To be fair, he was injured for several weeks and brought straight back in after only 1 game for Coburg

A lot of players will have to improve for Edwards to go, he'd be close to one of our top 10 players ffs

Absolutely right. Goo should never have been dropped by that pathetic excuse for a selection table. I'm extremely bitter about that decision.
im with ya. goo needed a run then finally make a damn decision on him. im not a badnwagon supporter of him but think he at least has more upside than thursfield or mcguane!

Delist

Thursfield - Game has passed him by
Farmer - Can kick, but he is a defender, not a forward.
Hislop - Had his 9 lives.
Taylor - Gone anyway
Hicks - too small
Grigg - Soft, unaccountable, poor decision maker..

Trade

Edwards - Soft, unaccountable, poor decision maker.
McGuane - Grimes and Rance have passed him

Apart from Nahas, I have to agree with that.

Of that list McGuane and Edwards might have some slight trade currency, perhaps for 3rd rounders.

I agree with most you've listed with a couple of exceptions.

Grigg can play but needs a rocket. Believe he should be playing a Tuck/Jackson grunt mid-field role.

Edwards was prob our best last week tagging Scully. Don't think he is soft and unaccountable at all. Having said that if we could trade him for a good youngish ruckman I'd do the deal.

Farmer has about 8 games to find his 2010 form and a key role. Clearly not a small forward, but under the circumstances his 2 goals in each of past 2 games is a fair effort.

Lol at those suggesting we delist Nahas, Gourdis. Both have plenty to offer.

Hope we try and trade Edwards...he is ****ing useless.

Grigg is very one way...I watched him closely today and he will not ****ing chase at all. Lazy ****. Not saying we should trade him but his a lazy ****er.

Hislop, Thursty, Miller, Farmer and McGuane can all go though. Still to many passengers and not enough depth.

The problem is nobody will want our players if we don't want them. I mean that only depends on whether they suck completely or they are just out of favor. We could get a 17 year old for Tuck through GWS and that's about it. Everyone else you've mentioned is worth nothing.. maybe Nahas.

perhaps i should bring up my list of 23 who need to go again.

what makes me laugh is the reaction to such a loss. its as if people didnt think it could happen. its been on the cards all yr and while we have to turn over about half the list it will continue to happen at times.
glass half fulls yep we are full of them.

it also makes me laugh when people talk about players like nahas and edwards being in our top 10 players sheesh surely that statement alone spells out the amount of work we have to do.

yes we have a clean out coming probably another 8 to 10 players. and we will do similar at the end of 2012 if we are serious about a proper rebuild.

I dont think this sort of belting has been on the cards all year santa, unlike last year where we were getting smashed every week. That is the most obvious thing that has stopped. Our big losses have been to the hawks, pies and now the blues. thats all. and oh yea. those are the top 3 teams. what BS. everyone is having a rage because we expected better, not becuase we expected to get beaten by this much. personally I thought theyd win, but not by this much.

Otheriwse I agree with the rest of your post. Still a long way to go and alot of duds to delist.

Nahas has fizzled off from his start to the year. Edwards has courage in spades but lacks skill in execution. I can see them getitgn another year. or edwards being traded home.

There is plenty of footy still to be played this season and things will change between now and the end of the year.

I've listed 12 names that as it stands, IMO will go and a further 6 (some perhaps a little controversial) who I'd rather stay on the list. But for the right trade would let go. I.e. they would currently have value but in all likely-hood either due to age or talent won't be playing in a premiership.

Delist:
Browne
Graham
Webberley
Nason
Tuck
Miller
Thursfield
Taylor
Farmer
White
Hislop
Gourdis

Trade:
Edwards
Nahas
McGuane
Moore (will be 28 next season)
King (will be 28 next season)
Newman (will be 30 next season)

Clearly we can't get rid of them all at once (as I've listed 2 rucks and 4 KPDs) so this would have to happen over at least a couple of off seasons.

I think those who we have to mark most harshly are: Webberley, Farmer, Nason, and Hislop all of whom are currently 22-23, mature age recruits, they should be showing a lot more than they are by now.

And Gourdis, especially when you consider that he's older than all of Rance, Post, Astbury, and Grimes and they have all shown more at AFL level.

Flame away:thumbsu:

Haha, you're right. When I turned the TV on at half-time (we'd been shopping in town) I wasn't in the least bit surprised to see the Tigers down by 50 points. Funny thing was, in the third quarter, the Blues were kicking goals so fast they barely had time for commercial breaks.

I would also suggest a radical idea: Trade Jack Riewoldt to Sydney. They desperately need a marking forward, and he'd be a cult figure and a phenomenon on the small ground up here. He is no good to us if the ball is never in our forwardline, and - by putting up a player of his quality - we could bring to the club what we so desperately need: A good ruckman.
