Gee Alf, you ARE still alive.

Good to see you still know how to stir up the masses. :D

I have missed your insightful comments, and the way the unwashed come out of the woodwork after you, when you make a post. :)

the furture looks great at the bulldogs hopefully they can keep up that winning history.

1 Flag

A real power house AFL team.

and the worst membership in the AFL keep up the good work.

And considering the Bulldogs are look to copy what Collingwood have done a the lexus centre, no pirzes for 2nd chump.

LOL

I'd take the Bulldogs list over the Collingwood list easily.

If you want a serious discussion about players we will compare Cameron Cloke to Will Minson. Minson plays one good game and gets big raps. Cloke has had several of these "Will Minson good games" yet because he is a Cloke he cops a caining. I would say that if Cam Cloke was playing for the Dogs and did not have the Cloke name he would be getting big kudos for his "Potential".

You keep your Clokes Rocket, we dont want your poor mans version of the Cornes brothers.
We will keep Willy Minson, we would'nt even trade him for 3 Clokes 3 Shaws and the return of our Malthouse garden gnome that went missing from the garden bed at the Western oval in 1989.

Problem with Jason Cloke is that even though he is a trier he's not up to it. Even an average player beat him at Williamstown last Saturday. He will play out his contract and depart at the end of 2006.

Seems these days its every blokes favourite pass time. To be honest people that do this have no idea about football.

Jason Cloke: OK he has played 50 odd games of football and at the moment he stands in limbo, when we had the mid field and forward line pressure we could use him as a loose man or a 3rd tall defender down back and he did a pretty good job and everyone thought he was a decent footy player, at the moment he plays to loose and needs to be more acountable but he is certainly good value for where we selected him in the draft and a decent back up if a defender goes down like Presti or Wakes.

He's never won a one-on-one match up with someone not named Aaron Hamill or a broken down Wayne Carey. Clubs have wised up to the ploy to isolate him as the third defender and now simply make him become accountable. He is a one-trick pony, and his one trick has now been negated.

There's no more Hamill types coming through as key forward - they're all taller, more athletic ones now. Jason's time is up.

Cameron Cloke: Seems like everyone has had a go at this bloke this year for some reason but for me i love the way he goes about his footy, sure he is cocky arrogant but he is 20 years old. He is playing in the toughest positions on the ground, playing in the ruck and when he gets a break there he plays a key forward role. Some how people are forgetting this kid has played 12 games of AFL football. But apparently he is no good and cant cut it. This guy will be a very good AFL player. Everyone raves about Franklin, Delido, Williams well these blokes have done just as much as Cameron in his first 5-8 games. Cam Cloke needs time to develop as a footy player and as a young man but he will be a very good player and all those that bag him out will know they have no idea about footy when it happens which i can tell you is only a season or so away.

Seems like this guy has a few fans around the place for some reason but for me I hate the way he plays his footy, sure he does the occasional nice thing when he's out on is own but he is, in spite of being 20 years old, as slow as a wet week. He is playing in the only positions his body type will allow. Granted he's only played 12 games of AFL football, but it's blindly obvious that whilst he'll take the occasional strong grab, he's too slow, has the turning circle of an elephant and can't do anything below his knees. But apparently he's part of the new wave that will win us three flags by 2010. This guy won't be a long-term AFL player. Everyone raves about Franklin because he's quick, can turn and has ground skills. Cam Cloke could take all the time in the world to develop but it won't change him being exposed at the highest level. All those that bag him aren't looking through Collingwood tinted glasses, and the ones that like him tend to be those that think Shane Woewodin's a champion.

Travis Cloke: This kid is very much like Cameron was in his first few games, aggressive, hard, skillful and smart. Sure he does look a bit more polished than Cameron but i think thats more because he has a definate role in the team and a structure position rather than cam who is swapping a lot during a match. Once again though i dont think we will see the best of travis for at least another 2 seasons. Must build his endurance as he needs to be able to make those multiple leads. Watch out though when he can and when we can get a Rocca, Tarrant, Didak, Rusling and T. Cloke forward line look out.

I like this kid. He's adopted, surely.

Don't forget the Rocca brothers were once always bagged (especially Anthony), I don't hear many people bagging him these days. Same goes for Rhyce SHAW, were are all his critics at the moment?

Rhyce shaw is still bin

L-Nizzy for once I agree with you on J.Cloke. I have said the exact same thing that he can only match up on Carey (Adealide version), Hamill and maybe Whitnall.

I agree mostly about Cameron Cloke but I am prepared to give him to the end of 2006 to show something. It's just he's been disapointing from what he showed last year.
Like I've said far too often. Players of his mould take time.

There are plenty of people who bag A Rocca
Maybe not so much these days, as its pretty hard to bag a player that's only played 18 games in the last 2 seasons

To put that in perspective...
Sav Rocca, who the Pies DELISTED, has played 23 games in the past 2 seasons having not missed a game since Round 8 2004

Since the start of 2004, Sav has kicked 67 goals @ 2.91 per game
Anthony has kicked 34 goals @ 1.54 per game

Anthony Rocca is one of the most overrated players in the game
The big Sav is ten times the player Anthony will ever be

L Nizzy from this and many posts of yours it proves to me you know absoultly nothing about football.

On the contrary L-Nizzy post was pretty good (refraining form quoting the whole thing) I just disagree with the assessment on Cam Cloke slightly, I also think he needs more time. He's only been a Collingwood listed player for just over a year playing tough positions, we need to give him a crack when he has some support.

As for C1 and C3, pretty accurate.

Yeah one of those chronic Collingwood threadmakers or closet Collingwood lovers who just need to see that word...."Collingwood" or "Magpies" just to make sure everything is ok and the earth is still in one piece.
