Coach signs on

Neale Daniher has signed on with the Melbourne Football Club for a further 3 years. This means he is contracted to the end of the 2005 season. Good to see some stability at the club, as this will make him the Clubs longest serving coach since Norm Smith (If he does not get the boot!)
Also keeps other clubs trying to steal him out of the picture.

This is good news!
Over the next couple of years, the Dees should trade aggressively for a CHF and a CHB, so we will have a shot at the premiership while White, Yze, Neitz, etc, are all still at the club.

I agree, but I think we need a CHF, not a CHB, as our backline has pretty good all year round.

What we need is someone marking the ball 40-70 out who can get it to Neitz, or who can kick some goals.

What if we choke the rest of the year (Most Likely), and dont make the finals......we will be stuck with an underachieving coach.

It has, but another defender would be handy. Hopefully Broady & Miller will step up but if not another Nicho'd be nice .

CHF has DEFINITELY gotta be our focus, the midfield is fine especially with Armstrong & Thompson in the wings.

I was thinking the same thing.....

BT, I agree, but if Nicho comes back next year, and add Lamb, Bizzell and Ellis to the mix, that really doesn't look to bad PLUS, not only do we have Broady and Miller but we have Mr. Molan waiting in the wings, coming back from a broken ankle! This guy is a VERY hard nut, something I think we need down back - then again, Molan can play CHF, but he can't be relied on to handle the load next year.

I am luke warm on Wheatley and no-one else can really play it. Make a play for Scott Lucas I say!
