I had and in a way still have no great problem with Dew
It's the combination of young coach with no senior players or senior director of football
I fully supported Dew on here for 3 years and said he needed his own team around him. He got that.
But we are a much better team (even with the injuries) than the results against the top 8 would indicate.
Is it the ability to motivate, keep them motivated, too close to the players, understand the game plan.
On some occasions we played footy which looked top shelf. 30 minutes later we are witches hats again. There is something fundamentally wrong with the player's mindsets.
Even yesterday we had a 30 minute match where we outscored and outplayed the Swans. Then for another 90 minutes its 19 goals to 2. There's too much talent for this to happen regularly.

Hardwick let Caracella set up in 2017, Clarkson allows all of his assistants to put their stamp on things, Horse has allowed Pyke to turn their game around and they're exciting to watch.
First year coaches like Rutten and Noble have made an immediate stamp. The players understand their role and they play to the strengths of them. Not a one size fits all.
I think Stuey's problems is he's too stubborn and micro manages to an extent.

don’t act stupid Mr Bods
We all know the clubs spoken to you about this position considering you are there hardest member to satisfy
Bods is able to be satisfied?

I'll belive it when I see it

Last year Dew loved to grab onto the concept we were improving because our % was increasing.
So buy the Stuart Dew percentage measure this year has been a failure.
Our percentage went from 90.6 in 2020 to 76.8 this year a decrease of 13.8 %.
Massive Fail.

Just watch Dews presser and 2 comments were very interesting to me

1.Q:has the club given assurances you will be coach next year. A: yes

2. the players and I are close and building

why, these smack of desperation, the club looks bad if we assured him and, players leaving if I go

the truth is players are going to go anyway if we keep serving up sh*t. The message to Dew needs to be finals or pack your bags, you’ve had enough time
It sounded more like a pitch to the committee than a presser.
He’s definitely feeling the pressure.

To be fair 16 minute qtrs, 17 games, barely any injuries and home games all year.
I would have loved for our season to end after the GWS win with a percentage of 88. This year has been far more challenging than last year in a few ways

We are very lucky Carlton are bad too, Teague has taken so much heat off Dew and the Suns. Now Teague is gone, they are coming after Dew, going to be a big few days. Exciting few days i guess, since we all kinda of want the same thing don't we? Dew Out, Clarko In

I'm sure Carlton and Collingwood want Clarkson too.Not sure we're able to compete with them

if we believe the media and dew is going or gone we either have to go for Clarkson,Lyon,Buckley,B.Scott,Williams, Voss,Pyke

But to finish 16th I can’t see how Dew can stay

Dew may stay but something drastic has to change in the coaching structure
I know we've had some bad losses this year but IMO the worst was Freo
The selections that day were just unbelievable and the coaching amateurish
It set the tone for the last half of the season
Dew and Haines always trying to be too clever by half
Malcolm Rosas FFS-I'm still trying to understand that

If Clarko is unavailable, I'd be going for Mark Williams. If Voss doesn't get the Pies job I'm pretty confident he is heading our way anyway as an assistant.

When I’m drinking a victory Scotch I’m a satisfied guy for a while
I'll pay that one Bods, I had a good chuckle. 🥃

I think you're all reading into the "3rd last" finish a bit too much, The mid-lower table was really compressed this year. We were actually a win and percentage off of 13th in the end

Finishing as low as we did for the amount of wins that we had actually works for us come draft night, I know what you're going to say: "we've got enough talented teanagers" blah blah blah

But I'd rather much have the high draft pick and the leverage that comes with it rather than finishing 9th and having no finals and a middle of the pack draft pick.
