Have you noticed that the players who get blasted on BF seem to be coming good?

Players like Welsh, Mattner, Skipworth, Bock, Burton, Perrie (hell, he even got a glove when we suggested it) have all had BOG or near after getting a serve. The latest is Biglands who put in a blinder last week.

Just coincidence or is someone reading this stuff?

Always the case isnt it i think its all coincedence but its wierd. I mean the other week ppl where criticsing lloydd and he gos out and kicks 9 and shag kicks 4 or 5 over the weekend in a solid performance. Ladhams isnt going to bad in the SANFL after a few bagged him aswell.

Coincidence - or else M. Doughty would be battling with M. Smith for Brownlow favourtism.

Collectively, we've got enough spleen to vent that everyone will have copped a BF blast in the past 12 months, so the odds are that some of the blasts were misdirected, or some players were going to turn it around.

Guess we'll know soon if Doughty has a 30 possession game this week.

As for Smith, well you have to have at least a minimum amount of ability to be able to improve on.

:D

If thats the case then I would like to say that I think Macca, Roo, Edwards, Goodwin, Hudson, Biglands, Rutten, Basset, Burton, Doughty, Riley, Welsh, McGregor, Stiffy, Tawney, Van Berlo and Shirley have not talent and cant play.

Oh and NC cant coach and the Swans players are all guns!!!!
:)

Definitely a co-incidence.

If spleen venting were the key, I personally would have caused Matthew Smith to be discussed in all knowing circles as the stand-out candidate for captain of the All-australian team. :p

I think Marvin's theory about the spleen venting being of such broad shotgun blast proportions that touch every player that some just have to come good. :D

or was the criticism wrong in the first place, and the only thing that has changed is the cynic's perspective?

This seems the most likely explanation to me!!!

Come on you've got to admit some of these were playing like dogs earlier in the year

Biggest coincidence is after we talk about it it shows up in the crudvertiser under the name of Michaelangelo Rucci!

Maybe the players are doing google searches on their names and feeling the pressure! :p That actually brings me to Bryce Gibbs, if you google Bryce Gibbs you actually end up with 100's of hits on some NRL player which makes you wonder, why are people naming their poor, innocent little babies Bryce?!

Was anyone really surprised that a week after Gibbs f/s issue was raised here......it was brought to a head at the AFC......

coincidence - i think not.

we are being watched !

is this a cynical comment that jack cant pick up or is it for real . Cause i'd honestly doubt anyone would care what we think.

No. far from it - that's the point.

So Perrie and Bock weren't spilling marks, Burton wasn't making stupid decisions and Biglands wasn't shanking kicks and tapping the ball to the opposition. You must be easily pleased then.

Having said that, all credit to them (and the coaches) for their vast improvement.

No different to now frankly. it's your imagination it always was.
if you check the stats I think you'll find they are pretty similar.

Perrie's statisitical output for instance has been pretty much constant over the last 3 - 4 years, the only thing that varies is the opinion which moves in direct correlation to our winning results.

The stat that matters is that we're winning more games - if we win this week it'll be a club record.

Surely thats because they're playing better, why else do you win games?

!st Half - 7 wins 4 losses = 63% win/loss

2nd half - 5 wins 1 loss = 83% win/loss (so far, with 100% in last 5)

Thats a 20% improvement and I reckon the above players are playing about 20% better

That my friend is the truth :)

Although, I do know for a fact that some at AFC do read this forum on regular basis.

Not necessarily. Perrie should have been close to being dropped before he relented and returned to the glove - and he's been consistently good since he started wearing it again. Clearly it gives him some confidence.

Biglands is also producing more than he was earlier in the season - even you, Stiffy, said it takes Biglands time to get into the season. Well, he is playing far better now.

Same with Burton. Again, you said once Burton gets an injury-free run his disposal will improve. He had some shockers early in the season. With his solid run in the side now, though, his decision-making has been far better.

Don't change your tune now. Players have stepped up. They weren't always playing like this.
