I'd rather trade him for a good midfield player, or as a sweetener to a deal to get a top shelf player like Power. A second round pick would not be worth it as Cole is still a quality player. There are other players to give up on before him, he is far from a lost cause.

Not sure what Richmond can offer us that we would want and they would be prepared to lose.

The club cannot afford to panic evert time a young player has a form slump.

Rhyce Shaw made the same idiotic mistakes when he started and hes come good

Richard I think will come good too but do we have the patience

Would offload him for a more genuine midfielder if there was one on offer

Cole and Lonie have to be trade options. The fact is we are probably going to finish bottom 4 two years running. Neither player has made much contribution in those 2 years. They are part of the problem. However before making a final decision of whether to offload them or on how much they are worth we would be stupid not to play them in our midfield, particularly considering our midfield has failed dismally in two successive seasons. To keep playing the same blokes who haven't been good enough in their roles over 2 years seems plain dumb to me. Move Cole and Lonie into the midfield for a good month or two and if you want to keep the incumbents use them elsewhere.

would hopefully get more than a 2nd round pick for Richie if he was to be traded, he was a 1st round pick, and i doubt the pies would want to go backwards, unless Richie wants out of course

perhaps he could be used in a deal for Salopek from Port?

Keep Richie he is only 21 and has played 50 games or there abouts needs a little more time to develop i see him being a tagger, very hard at it but needs to learn the art give him a chance.

Once again people that support collingwood may well be supporting the right team but have no idea about football.

Had been a senior regular since mid 2003 until ankle injury vs Freo.
Out of the side as a result of re-incarnation of Tarkyn Lockyer (pre-Jarrod Molloy bump vs Ess '02)
Will return if injuries strike to Swan & Lockyer.
Playing at Willy won't hurt...make him earn recall which he didn't do on Sunday ....however, may even return for Ryan Lonie this week for example !

Cole is one of those players who has shown absolutely nothing this year, and looks like his career is on the decline, but STILL has the potential to be something special.

I'd say give him one more season to turn it around, along with Lonie & J.Cloke.

If Richie wants to get his career back on track he need to lose about ten kilos. He's fat, pure and simple, losing the weight will get his speed and agility back.

Need to hold onto him, always dangerous off loading 21-22 year olds...
...What compounds it somewhat is that he was a first round draft pick, so will we get something of appropriate compensatory value???, thats my way of saying I want a first round pick or we keep him.

When was the last time it hurt us? The only player to leave Collingwood in recent teams that has really come to bite us on the ass was Mal Michael, who was being paid more than we could afford through their salary cap concessions.

And you have to admit when you've made a mistake in drafting and get what you can. Richard Cole is never going to be worth a 1st round draft pick. Luke Shackleton was a 2nd round pick, but we de-listed him, because there was no way in hell that we would ever get any pick for him.

Heath Scotland and Damien Adkins have been duds since we've off-loaded them. Nick Davis in Sydney has ballooned out of shape, been injured, and considered playing rugby while occasionally showing glimpses of something, just like he did with us. Blake Caracella = Nick Davis with more commitment to football.

Have heard Mark Harvey on Fox Footy and 3AW with Tony Shaw a couple of times recently and every time the topic of Pies comes up, Harvs says 'whats going on with Richard Cole?'

Have no doubt the Bombers are into Cole (his guardian is a director of EFC) and telling him they will get him at year end. Hope Cole has another year on contract or we may lose him to Bombers in PSD for nothing. (same as with Mark Fraser a few years ago)
