I think he really showed signs of taking the next step.

He is built like a truck, back himself to run out of defence and his disposal looked to have improved a little.

He was hard at it, as usual and i can't wait to see him improve even further this year.

Coley was solid as a rock down back in the All Stars game. As I have previously stated, his disposal has improved drastically, but his attack on the ball remains, as expected, unrelenting.
It is a promising sign for 2005 and does suggest Coley will continue to challenge opposition forwards and back himself to add dash out of backline. Previously, he faced the problem of being too tired at various stages of the game to attempt the runs to which we have become accustomed in small spurts. However, after an extremely solid pre-season, I would expect Coley to be running all day and establish himself as an integral member of the backline.
And I still hold hope that this year Coley can run the entire length of the ground, taking 5 or so bounces and drilling a goal from 50. I know he has the ability, I just can't wait for him to come out and show just what he has in his complete bag of tricks.

i think josh fraser will take the next step this year he is a lot bigger and and stronger this year and would be the fittest big bloke around any thoughts

I think that has absolutely sweet F.A. to do with Richie Cole.;)

However, i do agree this year watch out for big Rogan :D

My only criticism of Cole last year was he tried to take on defenders and often found himself caught with the ball. The game against Geelong drove me nuts when he kept falling over after trying to sidestep players.

Having said that you never want to stifle a player with natural attacking ability. Let's hope that he is more confident in looking for options.

Lol that game was shocking. Everyone fell over.
I think in the all stars game Cole ended up minding the likes of Grant and Rawlings.

Yes everyone was falling over that game, he does it alot better when the ground is dry.

I think he is a good player but there are times when he takes his eye of the ball and sometimes drops marks when backing backwill get better tho

His main problems are his disposal/decision making. However with Coley, he is the kind of player whose disposal you can fix because I think he still has a good action just cannot get the right depth with his kicking. Also he is a great tackler but often he tackles too high and gives away free kicks that could of been avoided had he aimed a little lower. He aims shoulder height which is dangerous since they often slip and duck into a high tackle.
