This was a hard voting week for the Collingwood MVP. Ben Johnson was terrific and really puts the spot in the back pocket for All-Australian. He has to contend with Matty Lappin, Aussie Jones and Rohan Smith along with other key position backman that may be slotted in there ie. Luke McPharlin. Paul Licuria was worthy of four votes because he found the ball while tagging or trying to tag Adam Simpson. Alan Didak has been criticised by Collingwood supporters throughout the year but showed how a small forward can turn a match without kicking goals. He got 21 touches and took 7 marks and kicked a goal, but he had a couple of valuable one percenters. Guy Richards has stepped up again by winning the ruck but his around the ground skill is supurb. Doesn't play as a lanky ruckman. 1 vote was really hard but Richard Cole sneaks in. He keeps proving me wrong with his disposal. His second efforts were once again great to see but he found the ball on 14 occasions and took 8 marks, and didn't drop any sitters. He switched between Daniel Wells and Daniel Motlop but showed that he can play defensive. Matthew Lokan was a chance because his tagging on Brent Harvey was terrific. Harvey had 10 touches coming of some good weeks of footy. James Clement, Ryan Lonie and Dane Swa provided good run from defence, Chris Tarrant kicked 3 goals and had 16 touches but i am still unhappy with his set shots and attitude. He did look good on the lead. Anthony Rocca had a good first half after rolling his ankle and managed 3 goals, Scott Burns and Josh Fraser were rested in the forward line at times and Tarkyn Lockyer was finding the ball and using it. Shane Woewodin was ok through the middle but Mark McGough still found 19 touches and 6 marks while spending an amount on the bench, he doesn't look injured but he looks unfit after 15 minutes of Football. Nick Maxwell does not look like a footballer, and that tool moment when he sidebumped himself to the ground reassured that. Leon Davis kept his spot over finding it when on. Jason Cloke wasn't on his game and Cam Cloke did well up forward and in the ruck. Also kicked his first goal in AFL football.

I thought Woey would of snuck in for some votes, his game was pretty good. But I'll agree with those votes.

As I said, 1 vote was really hard to give. Tarrant, Cole , Lokan, Woewodin, Rocca, Clement, Lonie, Swan. But Cole's improvement made me decide.

Cole did put in a good one, looked more confident out there, his passing has gotten better didn't see him turn it over. If he did it was less the usual.

Honourable mentions: T.Lockyer, G.Richards, R.Shaw, C.Tarrant
Non-Honourable mentions: M.Lokan, D.Swan, R.Lonie

Last night at the game i thought that Jason Cloke was Best On Ground, or the best Magpies player.
Getting home late at night I just realised how good Scotty Burns really is. Burns run from every point of the ground was terrific and he set up a couple goals not including 2.0 himself.
James Clement was terrific as our clearing half-back player. Thought he played a bit like Johnson or had to take over Johnson's role after Johno went of with a thigh injury. He had 20 kicks (23 disposals) and 14 marks. Most of these stats came when we had to beat the flood, and we chipped around at half-back.
Jason Cloke was supurb in Defence!!! His collective spoiling and consitent courage was just enough, but he also managed to take 8 marks. It was probably the best game i have seen him play since 2002 in that role.
Paul Licuria was once again the prominent ball getter having 28 touches. Lead well to receive when in trouble.
Richard Cole just keeps on getting better. He trully beat Phill Matera and didn't look awkward clearing the ball from the goalsquare. One of the most improved player in the competition let alone Collingwood.
Tarkyn Lockyer was back in town, Guy Richards keeps getting better. 10 marks and 14 touchesnot including 10 hitouts. Chris Tarrant played the role as a full-forward. 9 marks 10 kicks and 4 straight goals.Rhyce Shaw is also back in town as a tagger. he completely held Chris Judd. He was moved onto him at the start of the second quarter and held him to about 8 touches from quarter time to 3 quarter time.
Ryan Lonie was beaten fair and square by Andrew Embley. 27 touches and 7 marks for the wingman as Lonie managed 6 tackles and 14 touches, mainly uncontested.
Dane Swan and Matthew Lokan may find there way out to the magoos in the next couple of weeks to allow room for O'Bree, Buckley, Holland, Prestigiacomo.

4.S.Burns

So hard to give votes for this one.
Special mentions to Shaw, Tarks, Tarrant and Richards who also played top footy.

Scotty was brilliant and he was the main reason we broke out to a 5 goal lead. He set up 3 goals in a row at one stage and then snagged one himself.
I still think Cloke was best on, he was fantastic, i didnt see him lose a contest and not only did he win the contests, he punched from behind like 2002.
Licca was everywhere.
Cole was amazing last night, im one that has given him his fair share of crap. I say fair simply because he has earnt it, but the las few weeks he has really demanded my respect and last night i loved having him on the field and my friends would know that that is a major swing in attitude.
And Clement, well 23 possies and 14 marks, a top notch game. He looked a lot better then i have seen him in this season, step in the direction to getting him back, we all know how good he is. On ya Jimbo.
Shaw was great, great run, great endeavour.
Richards was really good in the first half but Josh was thrown into the ruck and Dicko couldnt get into the game as much.
Tazza, well he is back and oh how we miss him when he is away. Another day in the office for the superstar.Great forward line pressure too, just missed out on a vote.
Lockyer was great, back to his brilliant selff, like burnsy, every possession counts.

Burns is so clearly BOG for round 11 it isn't funny. He turned the game in the second Q. Watch the goals in that Q. He dirctly caused the first 3 then a point then he kicked the 5 th goal himself. You can debate the pacings all you want but Scott Burns get the BOG without question IMO.

5 Burns
4 Licuria
3 Clement
2 Tarrant
1 Shaw

Honerable mention to Tarks

No votes for Cole who just watched Matera beat himself. Cole was poorly positioned too often for my liking.

sure did and did it with courage. His hard ball gets is what i missed when he was out, and he showed that on Friday night.

My votes would be:

5 Burns
4 Licuria
3 Clement
2 Shaw
1 Lockyer

hard game to give votes
im with MarkT, i thought cole did not much more than usual, he only looked good because Phil shot himself in the foot about 8 times :p
i like the way richie runs straight through with the ball out of our backline, thats something i love watching every week, he did that good on friday night, but if matera was actually there to play, he would have towelled cole

this quote wrecks the thread mate. It is funny how ou base one players career on one game isn't it. Rhyce Shaw is a beauty, just hasn't reached the high expectations. He might have his familiar awkward run up the ground and miss the target or kick it 10 metres but the bloke tries just as hard as anybody in the AFL. Mike Sheahan summed up the way I would have. Rhyce Shaw would be better off to have the name Rhyce Smith. He has a SHAW asa surname. Remember his season before the Grand Final stuff up. Where he played sensational games against Melbourne and St Kilda and his presence this year has been ignored. TOG is ruining his career. I made a report after Round 4 titled "Mick's gameplan ruining players confidence". Which IMO is certainly true. It is ruining Rhyce Shaw, Guy Richards and had Jason Cloke on the crossroads. Come on... I didn't say MM needs to go... I said that if it continues it might be the conclusion at Collingwood... And at the moment it is happening... Fraser got smashed in the ruck last Monday and Guy Richards was sitting on the bench... When he finnally came back on after domianting he went to the forward line... Pity...

Hey mate,
Look at yourself in the mirror, while watching the footy. You are the worst user on this board for 'stupid posts that ALWAYS nip you in the arse'. You don't know half the things that go on around the place as does most of us, but mate - when you report ANY match from the weekend all that comes out is negetive comments and stupid comments like this. Yous still haven't told me why Rhyce Shaw is a bad player as it is. Remember Mark McGough, when you said he was useless and **** after one bad game. You said Buckley was 'PATEHETIC' against Melbourne because you are 'seriously' one of those AFL Supporters who turn up to matches but don't talk during the match or even yell during the match except for negetive comments. You seriously have used up all credibility by saying Buckley was 'PATHETIC' because he had 12 touches in the forward line in his first game for 3 ****in months. He also cleaned up Nathan Brown (one of the toughest players in the league, but you wouldn't know that) all you look at is egetive criticism. You think Craig Hutchison is better than Mike Sheahan, yet Mike Sheahan is the BEST. Oh yeah, another thing. For **** Sakes Facts are better than Opinions Maybe you should pay more attention to the real Football world. Tony Shaw said something.

"WATCH" FOOTY AND I MIGHT GIVE YOU SOME CREDIBILITY. FACTS ARE BETTER THAN OPINIONS MATE, ANYBODY BUT YOU WOULD BE SMART ENOUGH TO REALISE THAT.

I will sum it up for you! I said Tony Shaw has been told to play somewhere else. You came out with the most ridiculous call by saying he is a useless player. Then you say I am gullible. I am going to ask you 1 question. How am I gullible?

Is it because I said that Tony Shaw said that he should leave. Well he did!! Is it because Mike Sheahan said something that I agreed with, well obviously He did . So what makes me gullible in the Football world. get out with it and tell me mate.

Boo Friking Hoo

Are you reffering to me as crying or you because you couldn't reply back to my quote because you got wrecked becuase you agreed with me, or was it because you disagreed with me and thought that an opinion is better than a fact.

Face it. You have a shovel glued to your hand.

anyway....

Where was: Jason Cloke, Ben Johnson, Cameron Cloke and of course Statistics (235 disposals, 69 marks)

dude, DONT PUT WORDS INTO MY MOUTH.

This has gotten far beyond some ridiculous internet forum ok, DO NOT PUT WORDS INTO MY MOUTH...

You are argueing against your self, your not whiling to accept that people have different views in life IMO thats very ignorant, but im wiling to accept that.
Also, how do you know, and what the hell would you know about me any way. I find it sad that you can talk the talk on this forum but you can't walk the walk in life.

Have a good one, CHEERS

I have no idea what you are on mate,

"Don't put word's in my mouth"

What, the word's that you think that Opinions are better than Facts. You might say you didn't say that, but 3 other people would agree with me outside this forum becuase you argued the point that 'facts mean nothing, and opinions do', in other words you said that they do. Don't change what you said. EVERY ARGUMENT WE HAVE on this board, I always get the better of you because you will try and wreck me with an OPINION BASED POST and try and state an obvious statement that BACKS your OPINION, but the only BACKing up you get, is something that BACKfires. Your arguments are based on OPINIONS anyway and when it comes to FACTS you are screwed, because you CANNOT beat FACTS, You were a moron to even argue the point that a BROWNLOW means nothing, that any AWARD for that matter means nothing.
Rememember our argument on Mike Sheahan... don't back away from it. I am using it as an example so don't give me bull**** saying that it has nothing to do with this argument.
You said MIKE SHEAHAN is 'One of the Worst Journalists'. I said he is a great Journo, basing it on the FACT that he has got PLENTY of awards for being the best Australian Sports Journo AND even has an Award named after him you ******** for the work he has done through the art of AFL Football!!!

"Also, how do you know, and what the hell would you know about me anyway. I find it sad that you can talk the talk on this forum but you can't walk the walk in life."

I am, well i don't know what I am because this quote means what??? What has this quote to do with anything on this board??? Why do you say this???

Is it because you wreck yourself too much that all i can do is argue with myself because there is no argument with your words, I can't walk the walk in life??? i can talk the talk???
What does that mean. That I talk sense, but don't walk like you (on the catwalk like yourself:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ).

Of course i don't know everything about you! Who the hell would think they did anyway??? Is it because I said "WATCH THE FOOTY". I certainly know you watch footy, but try and tell people that you do because people would certainly think you need to get your words straight because I am assure that the fellow people on this board and even fellow friends are underrating your football knowledge because of some things you say. Just use that Knowledge that you have to make yourself much more clear. Don't think that I am dictating your life, it is a hint. Use your football knowledge and none of your useless grammar.

It is a FOOTBALL Forum!!!!!!!!!!!

"Have a good one, CHEERS"

What is that supposed to mean. It is like you are being weak and are backing out of the argument. The argument is certainly not over, not after this. I would like it to stop because it is ruining this thread because there should not be any arguing on it. But that is not going to make me back out of the argument.

Gees, better take a deep breath. :o
