RE: Small crumbing forwards.

That's a big priority for mine. I don't care if we dont have a betts, rioli or wingard but we need someone who can sit below the packs and at least ensure the ball is kept in the fwd 50 instead of run out easily. A bit of skill/polish, speed & goal sense is needed, whilst defensive pressure is highly desirable

Think Varcoe is perfect for the role but his work off half back and on the wing is important. Broomy is the other one but really never gets a decent run at it. Blair, Sinclair and Kennedy don't seem to suit for obvious reasons.

Need to take a punt and get one of these small forwards in the draft. Incredibly frustrating watching 3 of elliott, fas, cloke n white go for the same ball and let it drop to the ground n easily cleared out.

I have seen many times on this board the suggestion that Oxley is likely to be part of any deal for Aish. Nowhere have I seen any suggestion that he wants to go. Can someone enlighten me if there has been a statement to this effect, or is it just a big footy idea?

Varcoe should spend more time forward next year.

That was our intention when we traded for him but injuries and poor form with others forced our hand.

Hopefully we'll see Sidebottom spend more time skirting the packs also.

He's our most natural crumber.

Broomhead has shown some signs of being dangerous at ground level.

He should improve again.

Milera or Rioli if we retain a 2nd rd pick could be a good draft option if that's the type we want.

He was reported to be planning to tell the club of his intentions at/after the Copeland. TBH, I can't remember where we got that info from, but people started assuming that he was considering a move back home.

I think this trade for Howe will fail, if Melbourne want more. I don't understand how both players will be paid $400,000, yet Howe is worth more than Kennedy. I was keen for Howe, but if it is not a straight swap, forget it.

Was the combination of 2 rumours.

Rumour 1: Saying Brisbane were into Oxley and trying to get him in the PSD for free.

Rumour 2: Is more of a fact that he has not signed on yet and was supposedly waiting for after the copeland. Which leads to what we have now a player uncontracted and interest from Brisbane, it is very odd for players who want to sign on to still be uncontracted this far into trade week.


The other thing is he is a QLDer and Aish deal Lions will want a player involved.
