eddiesmith said:I cannot believe people are honestly suggesting a trade of Taz AND a draft pick for 1 draft pick
What a joke, if we trade Taz we dont have to sweeten the deal, I would have to think long and hard if I even accepted a straight swap, Taz for pick 3 but no way would I throw anything else in, it would be Carlton that would have to throw in their 2nd rd pick or even another first rounder
We gave any 2 players outside the top 10 and a draft pick (which got them Scott). Starc and Lehman were who they chose. We were a couple of years post a flag so our squad had more than 10 quality players. They actually wanted Mark Fraser from memory.Cyclops said:What diod we give for Bucks? Starca and Troy Lehman, good players both but Staks was pretty much past it and Troy had long term injuries. Not a fair trade at all. We may not get a fair trade for Taz from anyone these days.
Don't much about him. What we need is genuine pace and foot skills. How tall he is is irelevant at this point. If he is very quick, a good kick and a good ball getter then I'd be interested. If not we already have him covered thanks.Gunnar Longshanks said:Daniel McConnell for a mid 2nd rounder. Pick 20ish.
How about it?
This kid will be a good player. He's 19, 190cm and mature-bodied, but plays as a tall midfielder.
We were hoping he'd develop into an Embley-type, but it seems he's keen to return to Victoria.
We picked him up 3rd round 2 years ago and he's played a couple of games this year. That probably drives his trade value up to a 2nd rounder.
This kid could be a big part of your midfield for the next 10 years.
I am sure that used to be the case but I think it no longer is. I'm sure some have been traded in the past.Cyclops said:PP's are non-negotiable IIRC,

Just take the best mid field kid available at the time of the draft.

Can't see why others think giving away our first pick is a good idea.
I know what happened to McKee but what happened to Olerenshaw? Masterful thinking with those two and now people want to do it all over agian - Go figure.
We drafted him with a higher pick than that and have spent two years developing him into an AFL player.silverphoenix said:Maybe a 3rd rounder, cause it will be about pick number 37 which is a good 3rd rounder. id throw andy williams in just for laughs

If this guy comes home, there will be enough interest in him that we'll get more than pick 37.
You guys have to acknowledge that you're not going to con people into giving you decent players.
You tried that sh*t with Stevens and it's been hurting you ever since.
Really? Seems pretty reasonable to me.blangerang said:WORST POST EVER
Pick 1 (FREM) for Trent Croad (HAW)hotpie said:I dint think pick 1 (priority picks) could be traded.

Now your starting to speak my language, if this deal was on the table the club should seriously consider it. Last night however only reinforced my opinion that a ready made onballer with SKILL is waht we need. We had more tham enough forward 50 entries but the delivery to the forwards was once again horrendous. There is a story in today's Age about this years draft, there is nothing good on offer for our pick people! If Murphy and Ellis were there then yes, sit tight and pick them but they'll be long gone. Next year will be one of the best drafts ever and that's when the earl picks will be valuable, but not this year. So trade that first pick Pies for a Stevens a Bartel a .....???Gunnar Longshanks said:Daniel McConnell for a mid 2nd rounder. Pick 20ish.
