And another first would be the only AFL team to win 2 AFL premierships in October, should we win next week, having already beaten Essendon in 1990 in October.

There's been more than a few October GFs actually. 24 of them - with 1994 actually being on the 1st of October with no draws in that final (extra time final Nth v Hawks excluded)

Collingwood has won 7 Grand Finals in October
1910, 1919, 1927, 1930, 1935, 1936 and of course 1990.

We have also lost four - 1920, 1925, 1926 and of course 1977

Richmond has won 4 in October out of their 10 so that's the only club with nearly as much October success

Saints have never played a GF in October


So if it means anything the Pies have a much better record in October than in September...

Ah you guys said AFL not VFL.

Well AFL there were two.

1990 - Collingwood
1994 - West Coast


Regardless I still like the October record of Collingwood Football Club throughout history.
