How does the AFL decide where the round 2 game between Collingwood and Richmond/Fremantle is played? If Richmond were to win obviously it will be played at Telstra Dome. However if Freo win will it be played at Telstra or Subiaco????

Actually it WON'T be at the Dome. The Victory will be playing there on that date. Probably at the G.

If it turns out to be a Collingwood vs Richmond game, it will be in Melbourne, and obviously at the Docklands Stadium.

If the Victory are playing that night, then the game will be moved to the Friday or Saturday (dont know which day is set at the moment).

The AFL would not play this game elsewhere, it needs games at the Dome as at the moment the ground is a veritable white elephant.

If Freo win, I have no doubt it will be at Subi again, even though Collingwood would protest.

Yeah, if it's against Freo it will be at Subi but if it's against Richmond it won't be at the Dome (A-League GF) or the MCG (cricket). Hopefully they play a Sunday arvo game at Geelong... it's been over 10 years since the pies have played down there.

It would be good to see how some of our younger players fair in the big game in front of home supporters. The G or Telstra would pull a much bigger crowd than Subiaco; for sure!! I say play it in Melbourne (MCG or Telstra Dome) and reschedule it to a Sunday or Friday night, regardless of the result of Richmond and Freo this weekend.

I don't think it works if Freo win it is at Subi.

From what i am aware of, no matter the result the game WILL be played in Melbourne.

With the A-League GF on a Sunday night, it could possibly be played on Friday OR dare me say it Princess Park????

The Collingwood Vs West Coast was a Collingwood home game, so i dare say if Freo win it'll be another Subi trip. If Richmond win it has to be at the G to fit the crowd in, as we all know the AFL love the dollars, the crowd would be over 50,000.

The mcg has a cricket pitch right in the middle of it

telstra dome will be the site if MVFC second premiership;) (sorry pricey)

We will either be at subiaco or some other bullshit interstate ground most likely

Surely we could play AFL at the Dome on Sunday?
Im led to believe there is already a twilight game on sunday?

Dammn really pissed of now
i was looking forward to go and watch them.
it would be either i recon out of
Skilled Stadium Princess Park Casey Fields or probably Darwin
with the Bulldogs game canceled.

Yeah same here.

What if VICS don't host the final?.. Which it looks like they won't.

Either way hopefully we win our next game and have a saturday night game at the Dome so I can watch the boys run around in their tight short shorts and have a few beers with the boys.

Carn the ****ING MAGPIES!!

How is this true? Arent we a 12 points clear on top with three games left...
They are talking about the Ford Ranger Cup final, which is in a fortnight or so, the Sheffield Shield final isn't for another month.

FWIW, we aren't going back to Subi

The Pies Rd 2 match against Freo or Richmond will fall like this if Melb Victory host the GF (likely to happen).

If Freo win, game to be played at Subiaco.

If Richmond win, with a match already scheduled at the Dome on Fri night and Sunday, a big possibility is that the Pies will play Richmond on the Thursday night 26th Feb at the Dome.

No other logical solution with the G out of action.

Can't believe the AFL would screw the scheduling up like that. Well actually I can.

They could not possibly have thought of playing 3 games in a weekend at the Dome. All reports I have seen have us playing Feb 28 at the Dome. They would want people through the gates so it is unlikely they would have us travel twice in the first two rounds. Maybe the Friday game can be switched to Darwin since the Round 1 game scheduled for there has been transferred to the Dome?
